Other nominees for the post-rock examples are: Climbing Up the Walls (notably at the end, and also sounds similar to early GY!BE ngl.) Let Down (Way before Mogwai released Happy Songs for Happy People in 2003, heck, way before Explosions in the Sky started making jangly happy-go-lucky instrumental alt-rock music that set the genre into collision course, hence the "crescendocore" label.) In Limbo (yep) Hunting Bears!!! Morning Bell/Amnesiac Sail to the Moon (also sounds like Mogwai and/or Codeine at their quieter portions) Bending Hectic (obviously, I am also including songs from The Smile too) A lot of In Rainbows could count ngl. Optimistic (I mean sure, but again @dumbwood5820 said it better than me, as the track is way closer to Post-Punk Revival/Krautrock than Post-Rock but still has bits of it that can be considered I guess...) Treefingers (cool ambient drones ftw) Ful Stop (more closer to Krautrock but again they are Radiohead at the end.)

no.
@user-wv1ks1js5u10 ай бұрын
Alternative rock and indie rock are closely related genres, and there is often overlap between the two. However, there are some key differences between the two styles. Alternative rock is a broad umbrella term that encompasses a wide range of rock music that exists outside the mainstream. It emerged in the 1980s and 1990s as a reaction to the dominance of mainstream rock and pop music. Alternative rock bands often experiment with different musical styles and are known for their non-conformist and anti-commercial attitudes. Indie rock, on the other hand, refers to rock music produced by independent artists and labels. Indie rock bands often have a DIY (do-it-yourself) ethos and are known for their independence from major record labels. Indie rock is characterized by its emphasis on artistic integrity and creative control. While alternative rock and indie rock share a similar spirit of non-conformity and independence, the key difference lies in the business structure and ethos of the artists and labels involved. Alternative rock can include both major and independent label artists, while indie rock specifically refers to artists and labels operating independently of major record labels.
