One trick for the blue freedmen, you can put shielding paint on the back of the pickguard and that added mass will, a lot of times, deaden it enough. You could also have an aluminum pickguard made for it and you wouldn't have the issue anymore either. The Luxtone and EVH were my two favorites for different reasons.The Ibanez RG7 sounded great too, one idea for getting a more balance neck pickup is contact sentell have him make you a tele sized rail neck pickup or a ceramic laded stacked quarter pounder type pickup.

Congratulations for the amazing guitar playing! I watched this for gear enjoyment and I ended up amazed by the level of good taste in your guitar playing! I had a similar epiphany in the 90's :D Had a beautiful white Kramer Pacer Imperial and all of the sudden I bought a 52RI Tele. I swapped the bridge PU to a DiMarzio Chopper (they haven't had a tele model, so I clipped the sides of the PU and used clay to fix it, lol) but it sounded amazing, I always got compliments! Funny enough, couple of years later Ritchie Kotzen used the Chopper in his signature tele, so Dimarzio strarted to make these for tele as well. Never looked back since then.

I thought about “how many electric guitar is enough?”… and I finally found the right number… you need *26* electric guitars in your collection. Here they are: 1- Telecaster style 2- Fender Strat style 3- Gibson Les Paul style 4- Hollowbody ES-335 style 5- PRS Custom 22/24 style 6- Shredder/Super Strat such Ibanez 7- 7 strings 8- 8 strings 9- Short scale 22” 10- Baritone 27” 11- Gretsch / Filtertron style 12- P90 style 13- 12 Strings 14- Jazzbox Archtop style (such Gibson L5) 15- Semi-Hollow body style 16- Electric-Acoustic Nylon (such Godin Multiac) 17- Electric-Acoustic Steel (such Tylor T5z) 18- Dobro style 19- Fretless 20- Mini Guitar ¾ 21- Sitar style (Dan Electro Baby Sitar) 22- Banjitar (banjo style) 23- Silent/Traveling guitar 24- MIDI Guitar 25- Headless TruTemp 26- a “Memory” guitar, which would be YOUR favorite, the one you maybe got from your father, grand father, uncle or your best friend, the one guitar that could be any of the 25 listed above, that might not even be the best one, but it’s your favorite one because you have huge memory with it and it’s the main one your children will get in their heritage.

for the LP custom , check the potentiometer values (many say that those dark sounding guitars have 300k or 330k or something like that ) Aim for around 500k Also i Recommend 50's wiring (tone pot goes to the OUTPUT LUG on the Volume pot) on all (or most guitars) for that DIRECT (not D.I.) sound, snappy, present, you-get-what-you-give sound. Now if you play alot with tone and volume pot it wont work for you, cause there is different interaction between the two, and the volume will act much sooner than "regular" 60's("modern") wiring. My two Japan LP type (burny) and Strat(fender japan ) became alive with 50's wiring.
@brianmckenzie1318Ай бұрын
I'm no where near the player you are, but the story of the blue Friedman (Grover built) resonated with me! When he moved to TN, I ordered one of those (OG) T-styles. I was crushed when I couldn't really get along with it. The pickups were super hot and I went to change the bridge pickup out and found out why it had that "hollow" sound and felt weird when playing. It had that "boat" cut as you said. I learned a tough lesson and lost $ getting out from under it!

Yo!!!! These Shabbat guitars are like 3k average. These are too aspirational and really don’t have regular players in mind. I’m glad you have them. Enjoy.
@BigHairyGuitarsАй бұрын
I'm aware! 💸 I do have less expensive guitars, like the EVH for instance, but once the Shabat's arrived, they get played the most. They sound the best, and stay in tune the best, etc. I would take 1 Shabat over 2-3 $1000 guitars... if that's an option. But I do REALLY like the Charvel I just got, and it's about $1200. But it's not as good as the Shabat's. So, I'd have to say that they're worth the money. But yeah, I get it, it's hard to drop $3k+ on a guitar OR amp. A top of the line BMW will be better than a good Honda Civic by most any metric except cost. It's a similar scenario here. But, aint nuthin' wrong with a good Honda Civic too.

A lot of people do. The 85 is Alnico and the 81 is ceramic. I’ve used the 85 in the bridge since 1985 just because it felt a bit warmer and ballsey. It was originally a bridge pickup but guys like Zakk popularised the 81 bridge 85 neck combo.
