Sorry, Rugrats All Grown Up… you tried. Fionna & Cake is a masterclass in growing a story along with its audience, and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t identify with Simon & Fionna so hard after seeing these eps. So today, I’m breaking down all the easter eggs, details, and moments of existential, multiversal pain you might have missed in episode 1, Fionna Campbell.

Sailor Moon's human name is "Usagi", which means "rabbit", because rabbits are associated with the moon in Japanese folklore. Sailor Moon also has a talking cat guardian named Luna. It's a perfect parallel for Fionna, who wears a rabbit hat, and Cake, who is a talking cat.

Couple of things you missed in this video. Ice Prince is a combination of the Ice King and Prince Gumball he even rides on a combination of Gunther and the morrow. And there are glitch like mistakes scattered in the background of the city that Fionna lives in. Some of the signs are broken and don't match up, there's symmetrical pieces missing out of a lot of the buildings and sidewalk in odd places. Even the holes in some of the drainage grates don't match up right and the yellow lines on the street have pieces out of place.

Ok… I just got it! Fionna is in a universe that is in Simon’s (or connected to) mind. It was magic when he was the ice king. But isn’t anymore, because he isn’t. The ice prince idolizes Fiona because Simon wants to fit in.

In her dream, I don't see the Ice King. This is a full gender swapped world, so why is Ice King still male and Ice Queen selling ice cream? I keep seeing the one other ice person we know of, the one who wore very similar style shades. I see Ice Prince as the male version of Patience St. Pim.

The "DAATH" logo in Marshall's guitar case is also a clear homage to the logo of the band "DEATH" which also draw the "A" as a solid triangle. They were a proto-punk band in the early 1970s

I say that Fiona and Cake are an alternate version of their other adventure selves changed via Simon no longer becoming Ice King. It’s almost as if a small part of their other selves is still inside them. Like with how Simons want to search for Betty or his “Princess”, made ice king want to capture all the princess’s, it’s my belief that Simon still had a small part of Ice King left in his subconscious. The part of him that loves making fanfiction oddly enough.

I absolutely loved this series, but I also would not have complained if it ended up just being an animated sitcom for at least the first season and saved all the lore stuff for a second season. If you’re right about ice truly having a connection to multidimensional traveling I’d wonder if Evergreen is out there somewhere. Another thing that I wonder is if maybe Simon manifesting them into his world is maybe a residual wish of wanting people from a world he could connect with. Since he doesn’t have the crown anymore it wouldn’t give him the power to separate Betty from golb but sort of give him a monkey’s paw situation where the only thing he wants is company to relate to and so he ended up getting a cat from the world he belongs in. I’m sick rn so this is just a mess of thoughts that probably won’t make as much sense as I think it does lol. Good video though, I missed almost all of the less obvious Easter eggs!

Glob is a being that lives outside of the multiverse. He is both existing and doesn't exist in every universe, dimension, alternate reality, time itself, and most likely was around before any of those things began to exist. Glob was just there, and out of nowhere, a big bang happened, and he probably witnessed it. He just existed. The crown probably is connected to him in some way.
