@@DenverIn4 I actually don't know if Embiid would have won. After the all star game the refs stopped calling the same fouls that allowed him to have absurd numbers. He probably sees a dramatic drop in numbers the last 30% of the season and changes the narrative of the award.

Nikola Jokic is the most skilled basketball player of all time. While his career accolades are not quite where the "goats" are, there has been nobody like him in the history of the league. His ability to control the game at this level is top tier. Truly, the definition of Unicorn. If we consider absolutely all elements of this game (missing only athleticism), Jokic is probably the most complete player today... pass (ALL kinds of passes), huge variety of mid range shots, 3pts shots, FTs, floaters, fadeaways (killer signature Sombor Shuffle), handles, steels, screens, off ball movement, footwork, rebounds, avg on blocks, vision & creativity... clutch as fuck... top level conditioning, not injury prone, such a complex and smart player, great personality, real role model, I can write all day long... goat C in my eyes. 🏀

The NBA media is mostly obsessed (even more so than any other sport) determining player's legacies beforehand and awarding/voting accordingly working backwards instead of just looking at the actual play and letting their careers play out however. Embiid was a worthy MVP winner, but it's ridiculous that "Jokic doesn't have the legacy to win 3 MVPs in a row" became an actual talking point to not vote for Jokic.

MVP is much more than that, he is that player who has been the gravity for the entire team,the way they are playing within the system! It’s not just the numbers. Joker makes his team *better* while still putting up those numbers, not by ball hogging or stat padding. He constantly exits games early and leaves triple-doubles a rebound or assist short bc he focuses on what’s the game needs, not his numbers so his stats would actually be MORE insane if he wanted them to be. For example, he only put up FOUR POINTS vs the Pistons this season while every other great player ran it up to increase their averages. If you watch him play, you know he’s the truth and even if you don’t want him as MVP, just watch and enjoy his play while we can. He’s special, fam.
