Dude probably going to have 40-50 homeruns in our stadium it’s perfect for his style. Just like Santander did. I think our stadium is perfect for power swingers. You just have to make good contact. Even Chris Davis used to do it all the time until he sucked lol . Man I’m happy that Chris Davis era is over it was so bad being an orioles fan at the time.

They couldn't even compete with 35m/year for 6 years. 30 year olds are out here asking for 10 year contracts and he's settling for 6 and we didn't get him?? Insane stuff.

Sad indeed, And to lose Santander would mean our 2 biggest difference makers gone in one offseason. Atleast ticket prices will still be cheap.

Resign Burnes and Santander. O'Neill can add power to the line up.

If someone leaves whatever. My concern is who they replace them with. Since last year's trade deadline with exception of Eflin, with every transaction they've made, they've made themselves worse. For me last year's trade deadline was the beginning of the end. It's almost like the main condition of the sale was to promise to conduct business the angelos way. They'll make money win or lose. I have more faith in Tucker making a field goal than I do in this front office making any productive moves. Such a disappointment.

Boneheaded move. I understand the reasoning. Just boneheaded. WE NEED STARTING PITCHING. He never stays healthy.

Hot take, O'Neill will end up being an upgrade from Santander. Santander will have a MAJOR fall off after his career season and getting a huge payday.

imo we let Tony Taters because his play style is definitely unsustainable. He's a DH (outfielder depending on the team) who hits primarily for power. I also think Tony is going to start regressing relatively soon, maybe in the next couple seasons.

He has a better chance of being healthy than O'Neill. I don't like the idea of being tied up to an injury-prone outfielder for 3 years.
@TheHalfBloodYoutuber
@TheHalfBloodYoutuber 29 күн бұрын
@ that’s fair, especially considering we have already have an injury prone outfielder in Mullins. I do like the dice roll tho cuz O’Neill has a much higher ceiling in future seasons than Tony. I love Tony but his game is simply not sustainable for a guy entering his early 30s.

Eff Mike Elias and his middling acquisitions. Just re-sign Corbin Burnes already, ffs. The O's seem more focused on increasing profits than returning to the WS. Beyond sick and tired of 41 years of failure.

Hot take - this time last year, you had no clue what arm we were pursuing. And we managed to land Corbin friggin Burnes. That didnt please you? Rest of MLB seemed shocked. Other teams wondering "Why couldn't we do that deal???". I guess you see O'Neill as a "middling aquisition". Other than Teoscar and Tony, name me an available RH OF bat that slugged over .500 and smacked over 30 HRs? I will wait. Meanwhile, the deal has an opt-out after one season. If you wanted Teoscar or resign Tony, youd be spending closer to 22-25m a season and the deal would be for more years. Let me then add, if you signed Teoscar or Tony, they are playing everyday, cause you are paying for that top tier. With O'Neill, that pressure isn't there. Kjerstad can platoon and don't you want to see Kjerstad get a chance to play more than he has been? Isn't now the time? I get you are frustrated, dude. I've been waiting as long as you have. I am happy to not give out an 8 year deal to Fried. Crochet would have been a nice piece but he has a lot to prove to earn ace status, namely the ability to throw 150+ innnings. Jury is out on that. Meanwhile, Framber Valdez is on the trade block. Dylan Cease in on the trade block. Luis Castillo is on the trade block...if we were to trade for one of those arms to be at the top of the rotation and then went out and got one more arm that isnt crazy overpriced from free agency...does that not satisfy you? Just to show Im not here to lick Elias' boots - last trade deadline, he screwed the pooch. Other than Eflin, EVERY aquisition did nothing to help make our team better. And giving up Norby and Stowers for Rogers still sticks in my crawl. But dude, any memory of the O's pre-Elias? Cause now we've averaged 96 wins over the past two seasons. What we need is a hitting coach that can get the best out of the talent we have and we need Hyde (or someone else) to know how to win postseason games. We have the talent. We bulit it without bloating the payroll by drafting and developing extremely well. Now we have new ownership that should be able to hand out enough cash to get those extra pieces you need to try and win it all. But keep in mind, this is the first real winter for this ownership group. Yes, it would be nice to make a splash, set a tone. But, if the market just doesn't offer up a player thats reasonable, then you pursue trades and perhaps next winter, the crop of pitching will offer a better option that we can think about a long-term deal with. As long as that funk in our bats from the second half last season gets fixed, you look at the Yanks losing Soto and how mediocre they were the year before him (82-80), the Rays have dropped off. The Sox are trying to work up, but if you ask me, even if we cannot bring Burnes back, the moment Soto left the Bronx, we became the strongest team in the division without making a single move. Anyway, just an attempt to show where we are through a different lens. Burnes is going to cost a quarter billion dollar investment. And should we sign him and something goes wrong, it will hamper our ability to spend. And I dont know about you, but with the regular rate pitchers seem to go down with long-term injuries, its a position I am not going to blame Baltimore for being at least somewhat cautious.
