Every IndyCar Win in 2001 (CART)

The halfway point of the split proved to be an inflection point, as CART would have the worst year of its existence. CART was plagued by several bad decisions, such as the planned race at Texas Motor Speedway that was cancelled two hours before it was set to start. A dispute between Honda and Toyota was handled so badly that both manufacturers pledged to leave for the Indy Racing League after 2002. CART opted to race on the weekend after 9/11 rather than abstain out of respect for the fallen people; while opticdally bad, the race also had an accident leading to the amputation of Alex Zanardi's legs. While it was reasonably competitive, with Gil de Ferran earning Penske's last CART championship and win, the damage to CART had been done. Penske would depart for the IRL following the 2001 season.
