I think the real reason why a "behind" irelia is still pretty scary is because she literally gets cs for everytime an irelia with good mechanics fights. If you don't kill her with a massive health lead, you're going to back and essentially still have the same cs. Once she gets her items, she powerspikes so hard that it's useless to try fight her if you're both equal in items and 1v1 in lane. Her constant dashes can cancel aa and make skills miss, her stun is annoyingly seamless with her kit, and her ult pretty much makes you unable to just go away. Her passive also makes her almost always win in a 1v1 aa only stand. And, her first is total cancer sustain when used right.

Yeah. I'm an irelia main, you sometimes get told that you need to win lane in order to be useful, but you can just afk farm like crazy, take jungle camps etc and you pretty much clap everyone at 2 items

she's borderline unbeatable when she snow balls and her strongest power spikes are botrk and after that mythic. 3rd item forward she falls off super hard tho the longer you go, so closing out the game early is important. So she's op early and mid when she snowballs and nearly always strong mid game as long as you farmed decently. tf are hard to execute tho and she seriously can't be the main carry after your enemy late game carries reach about 4 items.

@@FV0055 it's not just that she becomes strong =/ it's that you can be a whole item ahead and still lose. I've seen people 3 items to Irelias 1 item still lose. Hell I've seen 1 item Irelia do everything wrong and still kill 2 item enemies off a 1 item power spike. Most of those Champs either can't do that from behind or don't do it nearly as well. It takes them longer to become relevant when behind and that's the difference. I also wrote that comment before the durability update and haven't played in a bit so idk the state of her currently 😐
