for the sake of it, i'll explain: The reason why Kernel Corn is so hard to get maxxed, is because its supposed to be a drop from the Fiend Folio Horsemen (or Modern Horsemen being their official name). But in the current public release of the MOD, there are only two out of four Modern Horsemen being encounterable, meaning it's basically not possible to get a LV 4 Mern. To counter that, the devs implemented it so if you have at least one Corn Kernel, additonal Corn Kernels will drop even from the vanilla Horsemen. But that still requires to get a Modern Horseman on the first floor (it being Meltdown) and then find three more Horsemen throughout the run.

I definitely agree on your take on Fiend Folio's difficulty. It's a mod that has a *lot*. A lot of content, a lot of great ideas, but that's hurt by really poor balance decisions. That's why it'll never get the Antibirth treatment without major overhauls. The mod could be really great, but that lack of a smooth difficulty curve makes it more frustrating than anything else. There's a reason it's polarizing.

Agreed. I see so many people point to the enemy attacks being the primary source of its lack of balance. But I think the biggest issue is that it waters down the item pool with so so so many useless items

Man this is almost the 'Every Item is' run I want. You gotta do the every item is but it's all the 4 stage collectables. I don't remember where Tofu was from but Tofu, Cube of Meat, Ball of Bandages, and now Corn. Gotta get one of each before you can restart the cycle and get the next upgrade.

Not an "every item is" challenge but still an idea I had. Start with: Soul locket Candy heart Gimpy The razor Gulped mom's pearl and child's heart And make it so every item is turned into 3 random hearts Can be tweaked in many ways, like adding/replacing gimpy with old bandage, changing the self hurt item, making items turn into more or less hearts, etc... Tho, I am not sure how interesting this may be, considering it will be really only stat changes...

New character. The Cobbler Looks like a corn on the cob. Instead of health, the cob has kernels based on heart pickups that will pop when damaged. Like reactive armor plating. If enough enemies are cleared with close to full “armor” a seed will pop off and plant itself for free items depending on what kind of kernel it was.
