Gosh, I remember a colleague bringing one of those laser keyboards into work years ago: It was steaming hot garbage back then, and I guess they have not evolved one bit! (Why are they still manufacturing this kind of e-waste?!) The tiny 10-key and 2-key keyboards may not be suitable for FPS games, but at least the damn keys work (and can usually be freely mapped too), so I'd definitely classify them as better than the laser one. The beeping was very funny though! (Supermarket intercom: "Checkout nr 7 is now available.") As for why the W key doesn't work: the game expects you to hold it down, but the laser keyboard immediately issues a "Key Up" after the "Key Down" so it's as if you were tapping the W key for a short moment only.
