Started my 2023 purchases yesterday, LEGO store discounted 40426 + 40499 by 30%, with GWPs and VIPs that's almost 50% off MSRP. I'm also considering the soccer table for the same reason (50% off makes for a decent POV and the figs are great imo).

From an investment perspective, take caution with Real Madrid stadium. Santiago Bernabéu is currently under remodelling facelift in reality and will look extremely different by the end of the year, which may put off investors, unless they want that nostalgia factor. (Why couldn't Lego have waited until the stadium remodelling is complete?).

It will but i think technic is a bad theme to invest in in general. there are better ones out there. tbh i focus mostly on 18+ Star wars sets, a bit of harry potter, batman and ofc modulars and ideas sets. for example i will stack up on the blacksmith. One of the best LEGO sets of all time imo.

Well guess I better get the sets I want before people start buying them up only to hike the prices up... as if its not expensive enough... 😑 While I'm slowly trying to get sets I want when I can afford it, not wanting stuff to retire, there are people who can't wait for stuff to retire.. The average shelf life is 2 years but many sets retire sooner than the average, and many others retire later than that too

Nothing is confirmed unless LEGO Group announce it (which they won't), so please always try to cross reference with as many sources for info as you can find

the average shelf life of all LEGO sets is 2 years, but many sets retire in less time than that. So it's perfectly normal to see sets retiring in 2023 that were released in 2022
