To me, both squid game, and these types of social games that are so prevalent in beast games, are just ragebait that I keep falling for. Games are supposed to be a mix of skill and social interactions, so that despite a lack of skill, manipulation can save you, or despite of a lack of social skill, then skill in the games will save you. But these beast games are made in a way where there WILL come a time where anyone whos liked the least just instaloses with nothing they can do to overcome it. Its garbage ragebait imo.

Tbh if feels like production just needs ppl who are socially smart to farm content in front of a camera. So as skillful as u are, your not gonna be as useful as a charismatic character needed for the drama and tension of this type of game show. However I think drama and tension are absent in a KZbin format as opposed to a series that builds up storylines over the course of hours of footage. Also I’d say part of manipulation is making ppl like you so if your bad at that then you probably aren’t succeeding at you manipulation

Its what is bad about death games in general. In Squid Game the glass platform game is so stupid cause its just completely a matter of luck of order. The one old person who thinks he might have the skill to game it gets it wrong and dies. I think Alice in Borderland is much more aware of making the games fair on some level (except for game of Hearts). I agree that it should be possible to gain an advantage by either exploiting the rules of the game or by exploiting others. Letting people retaliate means you're never incentivized to stand out (which is bad content, ultimately).

In Beast Games and this video, there’s a lot of self sacrifice challenge which is just straight up boring and melodramatic, especially when it keeps on happening so the viewers are just saturated with it. I watched the content and I can clearly say it’s such a chore to watch the self sacrifice part since they happen way too much. Pretty much all good gameshow only one has one or two of them and the rest is some rng or challenge based content that is much more fun to watch. If you watch the Beast Games, stuff like what occurred in the recent episode are examples of fun content to watch.
