The missing link at Nebraska was an offensive coach like Jordan Larson, as the Huskers battled doubt and lack of killer instinct since Mikaela Foecke graduated. Hitters were passive in big moments, did not take big swings in big moments, but since Larson has been on the coaching staff, the identity of the hitters is that of confidence, aggression, and when your opponents are down, you keep your foot on them and deal the killer blow. This years team is full of players who want to take the important swing, make the difficult serve, dive for the impossible dig, and stare down the other team when you block their attack for a huge momentum swing. Jordan Larson, the best US women's volleyball player ever, has taken this team from great to elite, changed their ferocity of play to a team of assassin hitters who are no longer tentative, but embrace the big moments with huge swings, serves, digs, and blocks. Actually completely agree that she’s made a huge difference. And also in the style and technique within the team. They have so many more shots than they used to. It’s really apparent that they needed a hitter on staff from the women’s game.

This team is so beautiful to watch because they all bring in something special and they all play joyfully. It is like listening to the band Chicago at the Kennedy Center. It is the right balance of art and science. I am sure the head coach is so proud of this team. If I had to rank them I wouldnt even use a number. I would just say art.
