The bass is such a massive part of Muse's sound. It's NEVER an after thought or something just tagged on. It's woven within the very fabric of the songs. Without these bass lines they would be SUPER lacking or flat out broken. That's not the same for most bands. Most bands you can hear their tracks without bass and yes it often makes their songs feel shallow and weak but it usually doesn't fundamentally change or break them. Matt is clearly the vision for this band but without Dom or Chris you'd be losing an even 1/3 of what makes Muse's iconic sound. Also, hearing their musical evolution like this make me appreciate their later albums more than I was aware. All of their albums are very very good.

I always forget Popcorn exists and then when I hear it again it's gotta be one of my all time favorites. It's just so silly and catchy.

you're amazing, dude. The escense of Muse it's the bass itself and you knew how to nail it!

To be honest I always thought that _Origin of Symmetry_ was their debut, but this was freaking awesome dude. I'm a big Muse fan and love both Matt Bellamy and Chris Wolstenholme's work, _Hysteria_ and _Panic Station_ were the first two Muse bass lines I ever learned. Awesome work as usual dude, keep it up, also general question but does anyone know what kind of bass that is?
@colbybeltz88367 жыл бұрын
Idk why i just find it funny that you thought OOS was their debut even though you're a huge Muse fan. I'm not trying to hate...because Muse is my favorite band and I didn't know Hullabaloo even existed until three years of listening to them. XD
@andrewpappas93117 жыл бұрын
I see what you mean. I'm just saying that _Origin_ was the first album I ever heard from them and I always thought they started in the 2000s, plus I had actually hadn't heard of _Showbiz_ when I was getting into them

Jen Niebla-Love It's my birthday too! I'm André, lol! My cell phone battery's dead so I hijacked my girlfriend's yt channel to answer some questions. idk man, The Small Print, Panic Station, Hysteria, Psycho are fun to play. But honestly can't tell you which I prefer. I love 'em all. ps: eternally missed and easily are awesome too.

Woah, it's been too long.... I used to know every song through there first five albums by heart, but it's been like 2 years since I've listened to them at all really. It's so weird coming back to a band you knew SO well.

Jan Bellamy That's a good ideia, srsly. But the most iconic guitar parts don't always match with the most iconic basslines. I may however make bass & guitar full covers of the same songs. And perhaps vocals. Don't expect much though, Matt is a fkn good singer. I just enjoy singing :)
