Cant believe Torquay went from playoff finals to almost getting relegated to Tier 7 last year, thankfully this season it seems like they are going to get promoted back to the NL

I believe only the championship final was at Wembley that year. L1 and L2 were at old Trafford. As you say why they held that game at the Etihad is beyond me

@@BristolRoversFan Wembley was being used for the Champions League Final that year and UEFA imposed a strict 2-week non-use of the Stadium in preparation of that game. Domestically, it could have hosted up to half a dozen games (Play-Offs, FA Cup Final etc) in such a period, but UEFA demanded nothing got in the way of their preparation. Only the date of the FA Cup and Championship Finals would fall outside of that window.

thats what i used to think but people realised that the problem with that is both teams would then play really defensively to not risk losing the ball in their own half and conceding a goal

Clubs who get promoted via the Non League play offs will get a big bonus not only Promotion is achieved but also qualification to EFL Cup as well as EFL Trophy but depending on where the club is they qualify for Northern or Southern section

Of course, these highlights had to include the fasted red card at the new Wembley to date, my lot Tranmere being the recipient team. What the story here doesn't tell is that we were forced into making a couple of tactical substitutions very early in the game. When we did suffer a game-ending injury for one player in 1st half added time, it meant we had used all 3 subs before HT.

@ my team Torquay had 2 fair goals disallowed and ended up drawing 1-1 and losing on penalties, horrible day and on the back of it we ended up getting relegated and going into administration
