I understand how big a deal winning a playoff game was for Detroit. But a kneel down as the franchise's best play? It may be the most important play, but their best play would be a Barry Sanders run.

So not like the interception lead to a victory. pretty sure it ended up being one of if not the biggest comeback in superbowl history as well.

Best Steelers play is James Harrison in Superbowl 43. Interception in his own endzone, returned 100 yards for a TD. Essentially worth a 14 point swing in a 4 point game. The Immaculate Reception is fun, but not as good or as important.
@jacobg51222 ай бұрын
The thing about the immaculate reception is that it was the first time the Steelers ever won a playoff game in their entire history as a franchise. I agree, the play itself isn't that interesting compared to things like Troy's interception in the AFC championship against the Ravens. But the context is important.
@waltblackadar46902 ай бұрын
@drgreggles you really don't know your history. The Immaculate Reception was the first Steelers playoff win in 40 years of futility of a moribund franchise and the play is a fluke to boot. Don't get me wrong, Deebo's Int would be the top play for most any other team. But it didn't win the game as there was another half to play. The Steelers dynasty started with the Immaculate Reception and the first glimmer of hope in 40 years. That's why it's the top play.
@drgreggles86582 ай бұрын
@waltblackadar4690 Superbowl > any other game I'm aware of my history thanks, and history shows that Miami won the Superbowl that season. Maybe if the Steelers had gone on to win the Superbowl after the Immaculate Reception I'd have a different opinion. But they didn't, so it's just an incredible play to win a play off match.
@waltblackadar46902 ай бұрын
@@drgreggles8658 And history shows that Holmes caught the winning TD pass. So Harrison's TD is just an incredible play in the first half of a Super Bowl and wasn't the deciding factor.
@drgreggles86582 ай бұрын
@@waltblackadar4690 Holmes' touchdown was worth as many points as Harrison's in a 4 point game, but Harrison's TD was with the Cards on the Steelers goal line and should have been guaranteed points for them. Therefore the potential points swing from Harrison's TD was greater. Decent argument though, so I'll accept that Holmes TD was a better play than Franco's too.
