Genesis 12:1-3 highlights God’s call to Abram to leave his home, not with the promise of property but with the assurance of His presence. Abram’s obedience to move was an act of faith in God’s promise: “I will be with you.” This underscores that the true blessing is not in the gift but in the Giver. God’s presence is eternal, unshakable, and far more valuable than any possession, which can be lost or stolen. The devil may take away material things, but he cannot take God’s presence from us. Prayer, then, is not just speaking to God but listening to Him, responding in faith to His promise. Property and gifts are secondary; the essence of the promise is God Himself, and Jesus embodies that presence.
