I was referring to how positive the reviews are which I think are as a result of a female led action movie being finally somewhat decent. Every male character was basically a useless dick though apart from the main guy which is cliched horror movie trope to make you want to see kills but I'd argue the predator franchise worked so well because you didn't want to see anybody die. I watched the whole movie not caring about anyone because it was obvious no-one else was making it to the end so the final showdown was all that was really suspenseful for me. Especially having all the french settlers being portrayed as basically savages why not keep all the comanches as likeable and around longer instead of wiping them all out so fast. Could of had a scene at the end with them working together realising her skill and accepting her as a hunter. Again this is all just my opinion and I was still entertained overall.

Prey is way better than you're saying. Sounds like you're reading too much into the politics. Its not like Native American society wasn't patriachal and probably would have underestimated a female hunter. Agree with your top 3 though.

I totally agree with number 1 spot. We are shown the best soldiers in the world who are capable of anything yet get picked off by a Predator who already dealt with another group of elite soldiers. The predator in Prey is just dumb compared to Jungle Predator.

I still liked the predator in prey but since the characters were so outmatched there wasn't really any tension or suspense and everyone was just disposable. In the original you're on the edge of your seat the entire team because the characters are all so likeable and you believe there's a chance they can survive.

Your list is almost 100% the same as mine! The only difference is the bottom two (switch them) I HATE "The Predator"... It doesn't look or feel like a Predator movie AT ALL. Other than that, our lists are 100% the same. I also agree with you about Prey. The Predator itself is great (therefore those scenes are great) but all the other scenes show a real lack of good writing/acting. It really is being over-hyped.

Rewatching The Predator I honestly forgot how bad it was and I agree it feels so tonally different than the rest of the franchise with its overdose of comedy which almost never works. I can kind of at least watch it due to the cast and visibility which is really the only thing that puts it above avpr.

I almost agree with your ranking. At least certainly your choice for the worst movie. When I wanna see a Predator movie, I actually wanna see it. They did the whole Requiem movie in the flippin dark! Where we differ though is your ranking of Prey. I think it should be number 2 and predators should be 5

[ LONG COMMENT/RANT ] So my only gripe i have with your list, which i do recognize is your opinion just like how im about to express mine, but idk if maybe you went into Prey with a negative mindset or you were hit with what everyone was calling it "woke". where i saw it as it was dealing with the "wokeness" of real well where her whole thing is that she needs to prove herself among a men heavy tribe (which is accurate of their tribe in the past if anything its tamed down compared to their past IRL selves) and even with her stating it, the movie at many times shows and tells how she is doing and taking it all the wrong way. where proving herself isnt the goal but surviving is, with her mom(?) and brother both pointing it out to her. Now i do agree with that i wish her and the brother had more screen time together as their chemistry was really good. I like to see Prey as a depiction of tho having the skills to do so, its how you apply those skills that matter. As for the rest of your list, i agree AVPR should be last as a movie its horrid (despite the predator being a complete and utter badass). The Predator yea a agree with that its pretty bad but no where near compared to AVPR so im good with that placement. And for Prey honestly i gotta put it on par with Predator 2 for my personal tied 2nd spot for best predator movie. Where Predators tho i dont deny its good i think it relies to much on call backs to the OG movies to really stand on its own despite having a good concept and expanding on the lore more of the Predators it just no where near as watchable as the others. As for AVP dude honestly my thoughts on it are the same as yours really its a dumb action fun blockbuster of a movie. And yea the first predator is the best hands down no question about it.

In regards to Preys wokeness I was more referring to how positive the reviews have been in calling it being close to or even better than the original which I don't find to be true at all. Of course I have no way of knowing the filmmakers intentions but it annoyed me basically every male character being unlikeable and essentially nothing more than expendable assets for the action scenes. Naru joins the hunt and in 5 seconds is telling them what they should be doing and they constantly act like the biggest dicks ever just so it's satisfying seeing the kills. Compare it to the original where you actually care about everyone and want them to survive instead the entire time I was watching prey I was enjoying the action scenes but didn't really care about anything until the final showdown.

@@highonlines1269 ah ok now I getcha, and yea I can totally see that where the hype and praise of the movie can ruin it for some leaving a bad taste cause calling it "the best predator yet" is a large statement that was thrown around alot and agree was over done. And yea I agree that alot of the male characters where pretty much unlikable especially with alot of the brother's friends who he hunted with where really mean to her cause she was a women. But I also look at it as that what would happen with those tribes with most women with them they were seen as less and treated as less. But to be fair it isn't really told/explained to us that is tribe acts establishing she is going really hard against the norms of their tribe.
