Hey SBMetro, the Angas Road Railway crossing has a mix of different style of lights, most are the traditional style, which have red domed shaped lenses with black metal shade covering the top half of the lights, on both sides of the crossing there are also lights which have flat red plastic lenses that attach to the whole of the black metal tube surround. These are not LED either.

The Hilda Tce, Hawthorn level crossing is in fact the Sussex Tce, Hawthorn Level Crossing - Hilda Tce does not cross the railway, rather it continues on the eastern side of the railway for 4 or 5 houses.

The crossing at Leader Street, Goodwood (the last one in the video) is the first time I have ever seen those flashing yellow lights before! Do they symbolise a second train coming? If not, what is the purpose for their use?
@sbmetro1652 жыл бұрын
Correct! It flashes when more than one train is passing.

We actually have four level crossings in New Zealand with SECOND TRAIN COMING signs, Three in Christchurch between the city and the Port of Lyttleton, And one in Wellington in the suburb of Linden. The ones we have are a much older design that have old incandescent bulbs inside, And used to be quite common practically in Canterbury at double tracked level crossings that didn't have barriers for motorists.

@@Jamie-Tane-media Yes I happen to know that! one of the most well known ones is at Collins Ave.
