I never heard about this Kill A Watt before, although this may or may not prevent from getting caught on fire.

FYI, i spoke with you several months ago about adjusting the slide on my 2006 Winnebago Journey, I was able to complete the adjustments and prevented any scraping of my new LVP flooring, thanks for the time and information...

I would not be without my kill-a-watt meter. I use it often. My progressive dynamics surge protector came with a remote readout that monitors volts and amps on each leg of my 50 amp connection. Also monitors hertz. I have it mounted beside our bed so I can see at a glance what is going on. Seems we boys can’t have too many toys!!

That sounds like a nice setup

Hey Kevin--would love to see a video on how you went about adjusting your govenor spring, speed adjusting nut, idle stop screw and your modified fuel needle and how that all relates to loaded and unloaded hertz testing. Think my genny issues are related to this adjustment. Been playing with it a bit but just discovered the way to test hertz with this device. Great video!

@@ktoutdoor So I have tried everything with this generator. For some reason under load I cannot get the RPMs to come up. Its around 55-56hrtz and then will drop and stall out. Even when I turn the speed adjusting nut all the way in and push the governor spring all the way towards the governor shaft. Wondering if the governor spring is weak. If i hold the governor arm up it works fine. Have you ever seen this or could this be a cause? Thanks in advance.

I’m a rv newbie and bought an 2006 rv that had been sitting forever with an Onan 2800 Microlite that surged awfully and would shutdown when AC was turned on. I followed your video where you removed altitude knob and adjusted it. I took float bowl off and cleaned it and it runs now. It surges now upon start up but evens out and surges for a few seconds when I turn AC on but goes away. Thank you for THE best channel. I’m getting one of these meters so I can adjust rpm’s on generator to get proper voltage. I’m not much of an electrician, im a welder, lol, What would be good idle voltage on 2800 Onan?

The hertz are more important than the voltage they go hand in hand but you want around 62 hertz under load

@@ktoutdoor Thank you sir! Coincidentally our old Sharp microwave conked out today and I was struggling trying to get it off the wall so I look on KZbin and your video on removing one showed up! Lol! I watched it and was able to get it out pronto. Replaced it with one on sale from Lowes.

@@yogibeer9319 did you try to fix the old one?
@yogibeer93192 жыл бұрын
@@ktoutdoor Hey Kevin! My wife said she wanted a new one so I gave it to my buddy to tinker with and maybe use. She was cleaning the inside of the old Sharp and the mica magnetron cover disintegrated in the middle and the spinning thing fell out. It wasn’t like a flat generic replacement I saw you can get and trim to fit cover as it had these little slots in it for the spinning things little plastic pivot base. I thought about getting one. I had thoughts of ending up with a three alarm fire lol. I love trying to keep stuff running forever but I got voted down. My old JD lawn tractor she calls Frankenmower cause it has so many other scrap mowers welded and bolted on it from other mowers. 😂
