I mean...first rapper I've become a huge fan of was 2Pac, then Mobb Deep, N.W.A., and so on...But CoFlow...I haven't heard of them back then, I became a fan only 5 years ago or something...Huge fan of Run The Jewels, Killer Mike and EL-P, so I've desided to go deep in their older albums, loved almost everything I've heard from them, but Funcrusher Plus was definitely a special one. This one is a Gem.

@@DJFurio At around 1:01-1:04 (and repeated) you can hear it, the voices going "aisha aisha" (don't know if that's spelt right, or even what it means) and "tet" , maybe elements of the track itself too at those points.

@@DJFurio well, it's been over 20 years since I listened to Ethnicolor 1, but I just did, and the synth stabs at about 0:58 on Tragedy of War are from around 2:16 in Ethnicolor... I think a number of elements from it are possibly all over the Co Flow track...

I always wondered on 8 steps if he sampled the actual Cheeba Cheeba break or if he sampled a breakbeat.There is a certain grit to it.Another example would be Smiff n Wessuns Bucktown the drums are obviously the Whatnaut break but it sounds like they sampled Apaches Hey Girl to get that extra processed grit.

Its possible he just slowed it down too, compressed it. The EPS is pretty gritty sounding if you push it. Edit: AH YES! Definitely they sampled the Apache joint for Bucktown. The crackle is even in the same place. I think E-double sampled it too on another song I can't remember the name of.

I've dealt with that enough just buying the records I've been getting the last few months.. lol. What slipmats do you use? I can't scratch for shit on the cork mat I have, plus my stylus likes to jump out the groove if I move the record too much. Not good. My bad for being a complete fucking noob, lmao.
