"You cannot go back to check Freya's criteria." Yes you can! Save your game, reenter the Artolia Mt. Ruins dungeon, and talk to the pink creature. They will tell you what Freya's looking for. Reset so you don't use up those two period points, and get to it.

@@turnbasedmemories It also would have been nice to mention the Treasure Search and Enemy Search accessories, since they can help out a lot in the dungeons. Oh, and the best place to grind in Hard mode, Oddrock Caves. All other dungeons take two periods, but this one takes one! The zombie dragons inside are worth loads of XP, and there's even a spare Dragon Slayer in the dungeon if you need it.

@@ZSS444 They respawn in a certain room in the Arkdain Ruins, though it's a poor place to grind. Enemies respawn fully when you leave a dungeon, but reentering takes up two periods. There is a dungeon that only takes up one period, but it's sort of hidden in Camille Village.

Yes you can go and check what Freya wanted but it will cost you 1 Period. Go back to the Artolia Mountains and Talk to the Sprite she will tell you what Freya wants. Save before you do it and you then reset when Sprite tells you.

Dimension slip doesn't eliminate battles you still fight the enemies that appear from the then treasure chest. Unless you throw the chest and risk breaking the item.

Tbh I never saw a point in skipping battles. I fought every battle in every dungeon I possibly could in order to use my limited time most efficiently. The REAL use for the dimension slip as far as I'm concerned is auto-avoiding those rare dungeon guardians (minus the statues in dragon's den for some reason) that teleport you away if they touch you. With the slip on, they CAN'T touch you, so you don't have to worry about dodging them while trying to get items, etc. Takes the whole hassle right out of it. Best accessory in the game for that reason alone in my opinion.

Regarding the Cave of Oblivion in the first chapters, you can transmute Element Scepters into Tomes of Alchemy and get massive amounts of XP

Yup. I usually have between 10 and 15 tomes by the end of the game and that gives you disgusting amounts of free bonus exp in the arianrod labyrinth. You can get 200k+ in some battles lol.

God this video brought back a lot of memories. I didn't even know it came to the PS Store back in late December either. It is kinda ironic as the week before it came out I looked for it in the store... Back when I played this on PS1 I had a book guide that detailed most of the info in this video (and yes, I'm that old), so most of this is just a refresher. Though I am surprised you didn't mention the 8 flame jewels you get in certain dungeons, and iirc 4 of them are obtainable only on hard mode due to certain dungeons being available on that mode. In addition, without all 8 you cannot fight the superboss in the Seraphic gate, of course though it has been forever since I played so I could be wrong on this last part...

9:19 actually the breakable scepters will only have a chance to break if you use Great Magic; casting normal magic will never break them.

Yes! the Ether and Elemental Scepters behave differently from the melee / ranged physical weapons in that regard. Normal uses never break them.

Have you ever seen Final Strike is operated while you are in normal attack mode (not in PWS attack mode)? I played a Chinese hack version which is said based on the first produced CD (v1.0?) in Japan. This can be done with LV1 PWS sword Valkyrie (as long as she does not jump to throw her javelin, its fine), Angrim, Belenus, Lawfer, Jun (best one of all), Kashell, Lucian, Grey, Suo if they equip Throw, Strike Edge and attack while guard crush happens. You can increase the chance the guard crush with False Arrow. The detail is described in special items which you can buy when you beat last boss many times. The first time you beat the last boss in Seraphic Gate, you will get a special item which can be equipped by Valkyrie. When it is equipped, it will upgrade your divine shop to another level and will have enemies drop much more powerful enough to beat harder to the hardest mode of last boss (4 Awakened Iseria Queen). The divine shop will be also upgraded based on how many last boss you have beaten and it will supply many useful items. One can grant you infinite jump, another one can teleport you to the last boss room but the important one is the time machine item which will let you move to chapter 9 and let the shop sell the important hint as i mentioned. You can buy another item to use with Time machine to turn you back to when you have not beaten the last boss so that you can OHKO the boss and get the most powerful equipments for your Einherjars, Freya and Valkyrie herself. If you are interested in playing this hack, please do not hesitate to leave you email, I will share the link so you can play it on emulators. You can also trigger this glitch/bug with code breaker on PS1 emulator...I do not have PSP so I do not have codes for PSP version.

Wow. I think there was only one thing I didn't already know in this video but I still enjoyed it and it's all extremely important. One thing to note though. You should definitely write down Freya's request at the beginning of each chapter but there is a way to see it again at least in the PSP version. You just go back to the tutorial dungeon and the fairy whatever thing by the entrance can tell you what Freya asked for. Sure it takes away some of your chapter points but you can just save before you enter.

About Salerno Academy affecting RNG its not the dungeon itself rather if you have perfume on you. You can wash it off if you need to manipulate RNG there.

So making Layer storm all hit just requires you to use the Dark skill with at least 2 fighters, they'll attack from the left and in turn their PWS will push the enemy towards the right corner of the screen where they'll overlap with Layer storm as it shoots. Good in theory, but hard to execute reliably. Plus, who would you send up when Freya ask for an archer, I sure ain't sending Janus, the most competent archer, and Badrach comes far too late and has the highest negative hero value that he couldn't even make the cut. So up goes Llewelyn (the game already forced me to send up Belenus in the first chapter, so I'm used to disappointments by now) I did some testing, the max stat for str, dex, etc is 9999, it took nearly 1000 golden eggs/holy drops to reach that amount, so I don't know what the game was thinking by giving us such a paltry amount that barely makes any noticeable differences, now if it could be duplicated in some manner that might be a different story

I see. Thanks for testing. Looking at the stats that Freya had in that Japanese video, she had about 2000 strength, but her attack was 12,000. So yeah, it's only a small portion of the damage. I imagine that Llewelyn technique is indeed pretty difficult. However, even when Freya asks for an archer, you can just send somebody else anyway and it will be fine. The person who made that Llewelyn video told me that you can use dark to push enemies toward Badrach and make all his shots land too. I totally wanna do that.

It does not have to be 2 mages and 2 non-mages. The mages in your party does not count for RNG manipulation, so you need only 2 non-mages. If your party has only 1 non-mage, then swing your sword once more. If your party has 3 non-mages, swing your sword one time less. You get the idea.

I'm about to do another playthrough I got rid of my ranged characters and now my Valkyrie is using a bow and my combat flow is too messed up for me.Combo works only if I hit most of my attacks at the exact same time, I don't enjoy playing the game like this. I'm definitely starting on hard this time. I can't believe we finished this game over 20 years ago with a positive score. We had basic English and we're young af😂

That just prevents you from getting some items. the A ending is still available. Just don't go to Gerabellum or Weeping Lily Meadow during the first three chapters. All the complicated stuff you have to do is in chapter 4, so you can save at the beginning of it and look up the requirements again.

even though characters have different modifiers on their PWS, keep in mind characters have vastly different ATK values so even some characters with weaker PWS can end up doing much higher damage then a character with a higher modifier this also explains why Lawfer is considered very strong in most of the main story cause spears in general are quite strong, especially when you get "Dinosaur" spear it's also why almost all the katana users are generally low tier, cause katanas just have terrible stats, especially in the seraphic gate also, curse the game for basically telling you to send up Belenius immediately, as he's actually one of the best characters in the game. but in a way that fits the theme of the game: "Disobedience" the more you work against odin the better things are for you. Just like getting the A ending you have to disobey your orders and actively destroy your seal rating

Sorry for replying late. The only penalty is to your evaluation score. You can check it in the menu. But keeping it at 100% all the time does nothing for you. Also, if you're worried about it getting to low, you can send an extra einherjar to fix it. So, yeah, go ahead and keep EVERYTHING for yourself!

Thats odd, concentration works for me at psx version. In reduce ct point completely and let you have your turn again next turn but!...Its just use many of your hp tho, and not actually worth it. It way better to use combo for producing purple gems instead.

Oh for real? I'm not sure. I found that video and put it in this video, but I haven't done that myself, so I don't have any experience with it. Did you do the same combo with all the other characters and everything? In the video, the enemy was completely against the right side of the screen. So even if Llewelyn tried to move back, he would also be against the side of the screen. That's what it looked like to me.

the Highest possible legit and non glitched damage is 1.50~million, that japanese video didn't take her starting str stats in consideration (490 is the max you can start with and it's nigh impossible to get by normal mean). Also the android video is clearly not legit, but who know this is probably a fault with this port. Actually : That video used the 2x damage cheat lul

@@turnbasedmemories Because there's no way to get over 2MIo damage with a perfect starting/release freya and all the possible golden eggs and holy drops. Only way to do it is probably with the throw glitch from 1.0 japanese release. And don't forget that the android version had a cheat shop.

No one never covers it I think I am the only man on the planet that knows . . . . You can control Layer Storm direction on the d-pad. If you hold up during it he will shot more arrows in an upper arc and if you hold down he will shot more arrows in a downward arc. Layer Storm murders larger targets cause you can hit every arrow during layer storm when you control it. Now you the second person on the planet that knows take my secret to your grave. lol Note: I also have a max damage secret for Final Fantasy Tactics for Samurai no one knows also I will be keeping that to myself :).

@The Legendary Zoltan You did an amazing job on this video, I just want to say that in regards to the secrets in this game there is one secret that I have seen, that I have never been able to make happen again in the tower of Lezard valeth, there is a hidden room where Bellion resides, if you enter the room, you will get a hidden event scene , Where you will see Bellion in a library he will see valkyrie and run for his life, valkyrie will allow him to run past her, then you will get "massive event points", when you now fight Lezard Valeth you will have to defeat him twice, and in doing so you will not see a cut scene when you defeat him you will be kicked out of the Dungeon instead, as opposed to her standard weeping, when played normally, also he will drop the seraphic gate weapon Glance reviver, I found out the hard way that this is true Annihilation of a boss in VP. Now I had a friend who had the same thing happen to him and he claimed to have gone thru the game on the same continue twice, as this event allows you to get platina from the "weeping lily meadow" he also claimed to have gotten Surts weapon, from the seraphic gate which he equipped on to Arngrim, which he got from the seraphic gate hell he even reported to have got an anime cut scene that lasted 5 mins after beating surt with the criteria I mentioned. And then gaining loki, and leaving the seraphic gate as Hrist, Basically he claimed that when you gain Hrist she takes over, so you play as her, Thus the name Valkyrie profile, now I know to all the valkyrie heads that have played this game for a decade or decades like myself will find this to be outlandish, but for me this game has been a blessing and a curse as I cannot find the damn room again all I know is that it opened up a different game entirely, no FAQ nor any guide can or has explained or found what me and my dead friend stumbled upon, my friend now deceased had no idea about the alternate endings as we played this game in 2000, or at least I did as he had it before me. I remember seeing an unfinished guide that Steven bruck did where he wanted to mention this, hidden aspect of the game as I think he stumbled upon it as well but in the end he left it blank and then went on to finish it as a standard guide that you will find in the standard official guide oddly enough even the Primia guide doesn't state to mention everything. Anyway I remember S bruck ironically wrote in his guide saying you could play thru the game 10 times on the same continue but at that time the guide was left with spaces as he wanted to find out how he did it. I either pray he finds this comment as I tried to email him on this note years ago, I am mentioning this in the hopes that someone finds what I found. Again What I am saying is controversial, and has caused arguments, just because the masses of people haven't found this or seen it. And mind you this was the first RPG I had ever played back in the day, so I had no idea what I was doing, which is why I believe I had that kind of luck I would just pick up and play now and again, and to be honest with you if I hadn't experienced this I would have been dubious about my friends experience or his claims, thing is I remember taking off the Nibelungen ring under the criteria mentioned and my valkyrie became my weakest character hell she was even weaker than my Llewylln at the time, my friend had also experienced the same thing.

. . . Dude. that is seriously some crazy stuff you're telling me. That is indeed very outlandish. If what you say is true, you have stumbled upon one of the biggest secrets in games EVER! But how do we test this? We would have to find the secret room in Lezard's tower, right? It would have to be not visible on the map, because I've searched that place to the depths. Why would you get the Glance Reviver from a scene like that? Hmm. It's pretty suspicious, yo. I'm afraid I'll have to leave it up to you and others to find this secret. @@turnbasedmemories Bro I don't blame you for not believing a crazy comment like this like I said this is way out there like in space or the universe, outlandish, but please understand this I have been obsessed trying to find this same glitch/ event in the game for decades, which is why when I see videos or guides claiming they have unearthed the depths of the game I don't know whether to laugh or cry as it is the biggest understatement in the cosmos when it comes to this particular game, if I could tell you the measures I have gone too, an example, I will give you a cheat right now not mentioned in any guide or FAQ for that matter, you can infinite level at the start of Artolian mountains at the start of the game chapter 0, just use the pit of nails to kill/ lower you're HP then leave at least one enemy remaining in the dungeon, take off all you're equipment and leave only Valkyrie now allow the enemy to wipe you out, you will now exit the dungeon and the enemies will respawn, meaning you can do this forever, this simple basic thing I have not even see anyone mention yet as I assumed everyone knew, anyway moving forward, anyone who has used codes will have seen Odin's weapon, and other things, hell what really took the biscuit, is the fact that I was using an emulator to play VP and the game glitched and brought me to the debug room you know the one with Kashel's event, I was able to exit out with the help of a debug room guide, only to go to the world map and find stages that should not even exist in the game lol, bar the fact I couldn't enter them as the game would crash, but to see stages on the map, anyway as I said seeing is believing and before I die I wish to show the old school gamers and new alike what a truly amazing game this is as no one truly has a clue what this game has to offer, the fact that people are rating this game so highly and they haven't even seen a fraction of this games potential and "TRUE" story line, is a travesty within itself imagine the criteria I mentioned having too defeat a boss twice, as they regain there full HP, so an example is that Lezard dies, then he says "No I cannot accept this" or something like that then comes back to full HP" you lace him again then he drops Glance reviver, now imagine using glance reviver against standard enemies mid game, I had a team of Lucian, who I gave Glance reviver to, and then Suo who I gave the ice sword which has death on it can't remember the name, but bro the enemies would be put on ice, and as for Lucian he was doing 8- 9 digits of damage plus he would heal himself at the same time, I didn't even know about the better armours I was still rolling with the first armour when I was in the forest of spirits but once I hit with shining bolt I would gain back HP and lets not even start with Lucian's Special you would see both green digits of 9 and a second layer of 9 digits underneath that which would be white damage. That's why when you talked about Freya being the greatest damage dealer, I almost cried as I have seen a different aspect to this game, and under this criteria she would pale in comparison to the ridiculous potential of the humans in the game, but anyways let me stop rambling, bro as crazy and mad as this sounds or I sound this is the "True" game. Another thing I will add is that this game has ("Six endings") not three, and those are only the one's that I am aware of. As all three ending might as well be fake if you don't defeat Lezard Valeth properly and get Platina, C ending has more depth under this criteria as well, not even I know what happens under these conditions, and as for the Anime cut scenes.... again if I hadn't seen the fake A ending I wouldn't have believed my dead friends claims to a 5 minute anime cut scene versus Surt, and as for the seraphic gate and the extra characters don't even get me started you would think me or my past friend was crazy as an example you know Janus.... right the dude called Gunter who hits Janus in his event/cutscene I believe is meant to be recruitable according to my deceased friend, hell my friend even mentioned a character who had a weird soul and wielded 3 swords who he found in the seraphic gate who happened to be a selectable/recruit-able character on his playthrough, along with a giant who took up 3 slots of you're party and did heavy critical's to the enemy party as well all within the seraphic gate. I could go on but you would think this is even more crazier than it sounds like I said. This kinda reminds me of the FFVII back in the day when a dude found this white materia, in the game through a course of actions, that no one else followed imagine millions upon millions of people playing the same game but not finding this one materia of course everyone thought the dude was talking s.... and called him a liar until it was proven years later.

@@turnbasedmemories And yes I do wholeheartedly believe that this is the biggest controversial secret in games or any other game ever created period, nothing would ever come this close to being so hidden from the world, to the point where I know people would be willing to spend/buy a save file that rare you could practically charge whatever you wanted, that is if one had proof how many millions of people would want to play this game the way it was truly intended to be played, seriously people would be willing to spend anything to get a save file like that especially rich hardcore players, I'm sure they exist.

With all due respect, fellow Valkyrie Veteran, Lezard Valeth drops Glance Reviver in the seraphic gate, as well so it would make sense for him to drop the same item if defeated properly.

Now that I read this comment, I specifically recall Hrist taking over the party, so when I played VP2 I thought "great, they're using her again, a familiar character". Perhaps I'm just misremembering or something, but still, this intrigues me because that part seems familiar.

look when people discribed hard mods they forget 1) the harder dungeon are in hard mode. 2) there more resource manage. so hard mode is harder in other aspects then combat.
