Shanghai is really massive. It wasn't easy to film all the Shanghai metro lines in 3-4 days while also going to tourist locations. Although Shanghai has many metro lines that I can go anywhere, changing lines is not great. Most interchange requires a long walk to the other line. Also, can Shanghai Metro please put the LCD route maps on top of the doors instead of on top of the windows? It is hard to see which station I'm at. It's a shame that I didn't have enough time to experience the maglev line and see the final moment of the decommissioned Zhangjiang LRT. My overall experience with Shanghai Metro is ... ok. It's mainly due to the long interchange walk. At least I can pay the fee with Alipay's QR code this time.
Amazing video! Needs at least one for every system in China, if only it was easy to do. x') Looking forward to part 2!

Es verdad que el metro seguirá creciendo y el sistema llegará a los 1000km?

Of course, the Shanghai Metro is already building several new metro lines and new regional rail lines, like Line 19, 20, 21, and 23.

14:51 i put the subtitles on this part. "Scrambled eggs with tomatoes" that's the name of the train ??? I'm not saying it's bad, it's kinda funny

It's a nickname. The colours kinda looks like that dish. Some other trains also have silly nickname like this.

The longest train China has made is the 12 car type A size trains.
@numberIII5243-bh8fo11 ай бұрын
Spoiler alert, it’s not used in China.

I think I know this metro system, but I forgot the country name. It only opens a few days per year for a huge religious event.
@numberIII5243-bh8fo11 ай бұрын
@@SFsRailDepot it’s the Mecca metro. It’s trains are directly made by CRRC and it runs 12 car A size trains up to 24tph. The ERL length trains do limit the frequency of service but its main purpose was to solve the tens of thousands of buses gridlock it the holy sites for Hajj.

In Japan, they have a commuter train such as JR Line, does the China have the same? Or the metro in Shanghai is commuter rail + metro rail?
@SFsRailDepot2 ай бұрын
There are very few commuter rails in China, most of them are intercity railways/High Speed Rail. But China is building high speed metros in many cities these days that are closer to a commuter rail with top speed of up to 140-160km/h.
@aldreyekaputra94272 ай бұрын
i see, so the highspeed metro route is different with the regular metro?
@SFsRailDepot2 ай бұрын
Normal metro usually only runs in the urban core and suburbs that are next to the urban core. High speed metros connects urban area to suburbs or important facilities that are far away from the city like airports, sometimes even connects to the neighbouring city.

The destination of Line 9 should be translated into "Caolu", not "Cao Road", because there isn't a real road called "Cao Road", this "Caolu" means Caolu Town.

Yes, there's also 外环路Waihuanlu (Outer Ring Road), which doesn't refer to a specific road name but rather to a district name, hence it's not translated as 'Road
