I agree the red wings deserve a talent like Bedard more than the hawks but it's been a little while since the hawks have been able to contend.

Really smart what the Blackhawks did taking their development camp off ice. Had they done the normal camp, Bedard would have run circles around everyone else, Korchinski, Nazar and a couple others would be far ahead of the new draftees and little would have been gained. Instead, they took Bedard out of his comfort zone and put everyone on even ground with activities they weren't expecting. Guys bonded and learned about each other. This will pay off a few years down the road when many of these players form the core of a winning team.

I actually like the idea of taking development camp off ice not only for the bonding and cross training, but for the crucial resting these young prospects need cause allot of these guys played in world juniors, junior club team, the collegiate level, and special events. These guys need rest and good training exercise so we don't overwork them in the long run. We need these youngsters to be fit and healthy, I don't want to a casualty in training camp like the Maple leafs did with that hit......

Crazy to think how hopeless things felt just a few months ago. Another guy I’m not hearing about enough is Lardis. He could’ve been a first round talent if he was traded earlier. His point total after the trade was insane. Also very excited to see what Nazar will do with this team. The hawks have the best prospect pool in the league, change my mind. 4:42 Chicago was trying everything to move up to 17th OA (Detroit) to pick Moore. It sounds like there was a 3-way deel nearly in place for Chicago to move up to 17 from 19. Philly would get 19 + 41 (Detroit's 2nd) and maybe more and Detroit was probably trying to get one of Hart, Konecny, or Laughton but 19 and 41 wasn't enough for them to pull the trigger thus shutting down the deal.
