The 2022 Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed moves to a new home this season as Halmstad Golf Club plays host to the innovative event. Tournament hosts Henrik Stenson and Annika Sorenstam tee it up alongside defending champion Jonathan Caldwell and in-form Ladies European Tour stars Maja Stark and Linn Grant, but will it be a man or a woman lifting the trophy on Sunday? Home favourite Alex Noren is the highest-ranked male player in the field this week as he goes in search of DP World Tour win number 11. Four of those victories came in as many months in 2016 and since then he has claimed two Rolex Series wins at the 2017 BMW PGA Championship and 2018 Open de France. Swede Maja Stark only turned professional last season but to say her introduction to the paid ranks has been successful would be a dramatic understatement. A two-time winner on the LET last season, she added a third title at this year's Women's NSW Open and sits top of the Race to Costa del Sol, with five other top tens from her seven starts. this should set a precedent for mixed tournaments. I don't care what y'all say, but it's the only way that we can grow the sport even further. If the course ratings and setups would be done properly while looking at scientific data I am sure that we could make up for natural female strength deficit. Linn outperformed everyone and it was crazy entertaining to watch. Great Sport

You know what people... if she played exactly the same game from the =back tees= she would still have had a "Top 10" finish I believe. The yardage discrepancy would account for about 16 to 18 shots in total! What an absolutely phenomenal tournament by the future "Great Linn Grant." Big cheers.

If it was an easier setup for the women you would expect more women in the top 50 but the opposite is true it’s Linn followed by 15 men making the top 16 spots and only 20% women in the top 50.

How do they figure out the distances for the Women's tees vs the Men's tees? I would imagine they want the Men & Women both hitting the same clubs into the greens on their 2nd shots and they adjust for that, but there were a few Par 4's where she was hitting less than driver and ended up less than 30 yds from the green. Is she just an extremely long hitter among Women professionals, or were the Women's tees maybe a little too far forward?

First of all congratulations to Linn Grant for a historic win..she was simply brilliant!!..Now lets talk about balancing the scales evenly..it's very complex and most likely wont be consistent everytime as all the golf courses are not just straight lines..If you reduce the playing distance you will not be reducing the playing difficulty evenly on every hole let alone every course..some tee shots are much harder than the approach shots on certain holes and some fairways get narrower at certain yardage etc!! Now there will be tournaments or golf courses where even after reducing the distance Women golfers would not be able to catch up..so all in all it's a big headache for the organisers to balance it evenly..This was a novel idea as golf is evolving in all spheres but still a long way to go for working out a level playing field..just my opinion!!

It’s not insecure to say her win wasn’t impressive. This is no different than if I won my flighted high single digit flight while another guy won the gross championship flight (no strokes). His win is more impressive because no accommodations were made like they were for me. This woman won her “flight” if you will. That’s all; nothing more, nothing less. Hell, I would’ve praised her more if she played from the same tees and only made the CUT because that would be truly impressive and historic because no woman has ever done that.

@@salok1508 I heard that pro's really don't keep a handicap, but if they did they would mostly be +7 or so for men, not sure about what the pro woman would be. I'm not a fan of the LIV Tour, but I bet that is the first place we actually see mixed team events that are from the same tees.
