Edit: Future me here. Sorry about the Japanese titles. I would’ve put the English names alongside them but some of them were so long that it would overtake the screen and look messy so I opted to just leave them as is. Thanks to another comment though I will update the description with the English names. Also I know I skipped over Donkey Kong, Yoshi and Wario, but it was intentional as they’re just spin-offs of the Mario series and not necessarily their own video game universes. “What about Rabbids?" you might say. That’s only because Rabbids are pretty much their own franchise at this point. They haven’t had any connection to Rayman in years unlike the aforementioned series who are still frequently associated with Mario. Like DK being in the Mario movie for instance, Yoshi being Mario’s origins, or all of them consistently appearing in the Mario Sports titles (there *is* the Rayman DLC coming to Mario + Rabbids but that’s about it).

I find it funny that before we got the Tetris spirits, we had Type A and B in the soundtrack. If you look at the details for each, they list the original as "Russian Folk Song" for Type A.

Ashamed this hasn't garnered more attention. The dedication to compile all this in one vid is incredible. I also think its amazing that the playable fighters only encompass about 5 mins of the 27 minute long video, just shows how much is really included

Well, that’s what happens when you only have 6K subs haha. But hey, thanks. I had all the series compiled for a long time in list form, but it wasn’t until I decided to make this video that I had to find footage of each and every one on KZbin. I’m surprised that I was even able to find them all with how obscure some of these are in the west. It really is amazing just how many video game series exist within Smash. I think a lot of people only consider the fighters when thinking about the amount of franchises in the game. But when you count the music, spirits, trophies, Mii costumes, etc, it becomes one of if not the biggest crossover in gaming (if not entertainment as a whole).

The only footage to me I think is wrong is Pokémon. I do not recognize Red & Blue with Gold and Silver style, so that is clearly a Rom hack compared to literally every other franchise shown. But still, this was already hell to find every single footage for, so I completely respect your effort trying to find them all.

Because technically they’re just spin-offs to the Mario series. They’re not necessarily their own franchises in the sense of being original characters.

Sorry for the late reply, just now coming back to this. Well they’ve pretty much branched off into their own separate universe at this point. As in they’re not really associated with Rayman anymore, unlike DK, Yoshi and Wario who are still considered Mario characters and appear with Mario. I mean when’s the last time we’ve seen Rayman with the Rabbids? Or have any Rayman reference in a Rabbids game? Even in the TV show, or when we start off in the Rabbids world in the Mario + Rabbids intro it’s not even Rayman’s world at all.
