The strangest part is we don't know much about the afterlives for followers of the eight/nine divines. From what we know, they sacrificed their physical forms and most of their conscious thought to creating the Mundus, as well as the barrier that protects the Mundus from Oblivion. Their physical remains taking form as the infinite realms mortals perceive as "planets" seen in the night sky. The thing is that means their "afterlife" their followers go to likely isn't that amazing as they gave up most of their power and contentious thoughts for the Mundus. And their realm's (planets) are technically not in Aetherius either, but float in the empty space of Mundus between Nirn and Oblivion. Meaning the magic power in those realms is only slightly more than what Nirn receives though the stars and sun. It all depends on how much of their form and reasoning remains, but my guess is they are pretty much just a little bit stronger and smarter then normal mortals, and can't even leave their realm due to the majority of their power/form and thoughts are constantly occupied to upholding and protecting the Mundus.
@themonolougist6 ай бұрын
It's also very interesting how their lack of existence still inspire the peoples to worship them. When the daedra not only exist but sometimes physically speak to mortals and their effects are definitely felt, you'd think that would mark them as special interest yet it follows realistic lines about people seeing gods where there are virtually none. What's even more interesting that the aedra show up in different mythologies all throughout Tamriel (imperial Kynareth, nord Kyne, khajiit Khenarthi) meaning they have some form of communication with them at least name wise
@LeeWu-xg8kv6 ай бұрын

3:26 emm that is not Malacath's purview. Malacath is the Daedric Prince of Curses and those who are Cursed. Boethiah is the Daedric Prince of Desception. Molag Bal is Called the God of Lies among other epithets.

What if one guy from any race became the disciple of all the Skyrim gods and they fight over where to put him
@itstimebombofficial5 ай бұрын
Someone else said something similar to that about the dragonborn and how the gods would fight over who gets to have him in their afterlife, super interesting

This is really high quality but i have just one qualm: the microphone quality is exceptionally low due to face covering. I recommend a clip mic instead

Got any reccomendations? Every lav/clip mic I have gotten has like a gross white noise in the background

malacath, much like uncle sheo, isn't actually an original daedra, he was made by other daedra technically, sheo was jyggalag before he was sheo, he was the curse of jyggalag, and malacath .... well before he became malacath, Trinimac was an ancient Aedroth (Et'Ada or "Original Spirit"), Aldmeri deity, and the alleged precursor to the Daedric Prince Malacath. He is described as the strongest of the Aedra, the champion of the High Elven pantheon, and in some places more popular than even Auri-El. Auri-els GREATEST knight, but that was before he was DEVOURED alive by boethiah and shat out as malacath in mockery of thinking he was stronger or better than boethiah and in mockery of Auri-el ... she took his best warrior and turned him into a daedra.

It’s funny you said that the far shore is similar to sovanguard as both have portals in there races province in temples both beliefs have a reptile consuming souls, Alduin all the Nords and Satakal the world skin who eats himself and ends the kalpa (the world) only to start the next it’s fun to think about if you look at the real world mythology that inspired them redguard (Egypt) Nords (Vikings/paganism)
@jamescutts50056 ай бұрын
Egypt, mythology you have Anubis guides the souls to the field of reads(far shores/ dunes) which was peaceful and Vikings, you had Valhalla, which was a mead hall for fighting and warriors (sovinguard)

you got Malacath completely wrong. Malacath is associated with the cursed, ostracized, and the downtrodden. He is one of the least evil daedric princes, if you actually look at his track record. Which makes since, as he formerly was an Aedra, so he has some degree of inherent understanding and empathy for mortal life that daedra ordinarily do not have.
