As a West African woman, I had the privilege to go to college in Texas and in Arkansas. I was an international student, and let me tell you, I lived the best experience of my life in those towns. People smile at strangers, hold the door for the ladies, people can give you a ride if you don't have a car, and leaving stuff on your library table is safe because people don't steal. I am grateful to have discovered the side of America they rarely show abroad. Simple, faithful, kind people. 😊🥰. P.s. I am Muslim 😉.

The real struggle is trying to explain where your small hometown is by explaining it’s between 2 other slightly bigger small towns nobody has heard of 😂🤦🏻‍♀️ From Oklahoma but once was stationed in Alaska. Heard a woman in line behind me at the commissary talking about a small town near my hometown. I said “oh my gosh, that’s close to where I’m from!” And she actually knew my hometown. I’d met people from my own state who’d never heard of my town, but someone like 3000 miles away knew exactly where it was. 😂

Oh I live in little ole Stayton out in the middle of nowhere now." Stayton is like, 45 minutes from Vancouver in lighter traffic and just outside of Salem lol.

@@toedrag-release Oh that's nothing! Here in the Portland area of Oregon, it can take upwards of that long to go the equivalent of just 5 miles on the rail and bus, which takes in terrible traffic maybe 30 minutes to get to, normally around 10 or so. What, you want in the city? Why drive 45 minutes across the city when there's a great Mexican place 30 minutes away in the real small town?" or "Get onto the freeway going south, drive until it becomes the Highway, drive past the real small town and take the first exit to the small town, drive past the John Deere store... Snipe hunting and cow tipping lol. I grew up in a small town in Missouri and we would try and trick the new kids into going snipe hunting lol. Go out in the country and give them a bag and a flashlight and yell Here snipe-snipe lol. And then you jump in the truck and leave them alone. 😂😂

62 cousins is actually too low. If each parent were part of 8 children, there'd be 7 × 8 x 2 = 112 cousins. Unless of course it's Alabama we're talking about.

I'm from a town of 750. Known mostly for its Harley Davidson shop. We still have an operational 1930's gas station that will pump your gas and does service (on domestic vehicles) for cheap! Everyone knows everyone and calls you by name. My son is a Marine and people frequently ask how he's doing. (He had his Senior pics on the Railroad tracks) Will never leave a small town!

I'm from a small town in the South where everyone seems related. When I met my husband I asked where he was from, and he said Puerto Rico. We started dating a few days later and I told him "I am so happy you are from Puerto Rico, because at least I know you are not one of my cousins. My family is to afraid of water to travel that far."

😂Accurate but as the oldest of 7 born and raised in a small rural town,I feel attacked😂😂. We had 2 red lights. The entire “downtown” was 3 blocks for those 2 red lights. The Christmas parade would march to one red light, turn around and march to the other red light. Train tracks literally separated me from my friends. Seriously, tho, after working in major cities I wouldn’t trade my small town upbringing for a thing.
