For me, having an aesthetically pleasing but efficient farm with a wide variety of crops is more important than a massive ancient fruit wine factory. So I plant all available crops but favor the seasons heavy hitters like cauli, melons and pumpkins. Ancient fruit and sweet gem berries are limited to the greenhouse, wich is full of those as well as strawberries. And I havent unlocked ginger island yet but I will only grow the local tropical crops there. I also grow a lot of wheat because of the free hay, and like Waligug said, its satisfying to harvest a whole field of it with a scythe.

Garlic with oil makes Garlic Oil which gives you eliqusor that gives you 200 health regin. Use Sunflowers to make the oil then use the garlic and oil to make em. I like the stupid machine that mills rice, converts beets into sugar, and wheat into flour. It's not really cost effective, but I like the independence. Now if we could only brew vinegar on the farm... Also, kale is a good crop to put into preserve jars before you hit level 10 and it becomes worthwhile to put more valuable stuff in. If rhubarb was classed as a vegetable, which it obviously is, it would be a great crop to put in preserve jars. Since it's a "fruit" and makes less valuable wine than other crops available around the same time, it's pretty useless except for completion of all the recipes. Too bad.
@Marialla.2 жыл бұрын
Rhubarb is good to put into preserves jars. It makes rhubarb jelly, which sells for a little bit more than cauliflower pickles. Compared to potatoes, kale doesn't make quite as much money. It's close, if you're pickling them. But the cost of the kale seeds knocks it down a bit. I like the mill too, though, just for the aesthetics. IDK why Gug would call it ugly!

Yeah. It's not crazy expensive and pays for itself pretty quick between a large rice crop and then a large wheat crop to preserve your watering and tilling and fertilizer between summer and fall. To be fair, red cabbage is actually a pretty decent crop in year two if you're like me and enjoy having some variety on the farm without resorting to ones that have pretty much no value. Personally, I think it's worth planting a single flower and surrounding it with your beehives, especially fairy roses. They're all for the honey and it's just some variety. Also, rhubarb is a pretty damned good crop in Spring year two as well, way more than red cabbage in summer. Not a lot of good spring crops, but rhubarb is a pretty solid option.
@Craxin012 жыл бұрын
While starfruit wine sells for more, you get less per plot than ancient fruit, plus you have to buy more cutting into your profits even more. Plant them on Ginger Island and never need to replant, use the quarry as a keg farm, and massive profits. Hell, couple Ginger Island as a forever ancient fruit farm with 15 off the main farm plantable spots to put fairy rose and deluxe retaining soil and REALLY massive profits. I'm getting nearly 1.6 million a month from almost 400 fair rose honey every 4 days.

If irl reasons are included, corn has some nifty upsides. For starters it's used in making one very important disinfectant, which also doubles as a sort of cleaning agent that helps on some really tough stains. And memories too. Cleans them right up. Secondly, corn comes with its own cult that's all about eternal youth, sort of. You will definitely stay young for as long as you live. Yet somehow I think that even a farm full of corn could not save us from the never aging purgatory of The Valley. Even if the children truly never age.

That's from worst to best. If it was from best to worst you would start with best.

The hop is the highest profitability, easiest to scale, cheapest long-term investment crop. Plant one crop per cask in your basement, on Ginger Island, have 2 kegs per plant, and you'll have your Golden Clock in a year. It's more efficient that starfruit wine. And before anyone argues with us, the profit checker on the wiki agrees with us. : 3

the tea sapling sell price was nerfed from 500 to 250 and it makes 350 every season if you turn it into tea (700 if you pickle it)

I love yams in the game plant them to befriend Linus and make glazed yams which bring up your energy a lot :edit I play casually so I know they aren’t profitable and don’t give you buffs but idc it’s simple and easy to get so I like it

I hate the beets because one quest requires you to put 10 in Lewis' fridge and by that point I never have beets stored up because they're such an inconsequential and weird thing to grow. Also they're not that great in real life.

There is actually one other source for red cabbage seeds. There is an extremely low chance of it being in treasure room in skull caverns. So low that it wasn't even on the wiki, at least at the time of recording for the video I saw a few weeks ago that demonstrated that it is indeed possible. I think it was an early CC completion video of some kind, but it was definitely an old video because I think it was from before the option to guarantee the seed at the cart in year one was added. Anyway I can't imagine the seed was removed from the drop table. EDIT: I just went through my watch history to find the video. It was a Blade video, a run on version 1.4, before the guaranteed cart seed in year 1 option was added and before serpents could drop them. According to Blade, the odds of a red cabbage seed from a treasure room in Skull Caverns is 1/648.
