Wasn’t a happy ending but tbh a perfect ending they had no where else to go they explored and survived even if they went back down they’ll starve to death so them passing while asleep was the painless death for them and they were happy in the end together. It’s a perfect way to say peace and goodbye to the dying world they did there deed and there was nothing else to go forward for the title is “Girls Last Tour” sadly the anime and manga pointed it out multiple times that it was never about “HOPE” or to look forward for something it focuses a lot on Despair, Hopelessness, but yeah sad but perfect way to end it 😭
