I am getting more and more into learning the early foundations of bajun musical history. I recall my late granny and mom and aunts singing some of these ancient classics. Fortunately, my late dad used to play a wicked guitar and used to strum along for us to sing. So beautiful to reflect on our rich history.

For what it's worth, I'm African American, but my maternal grandmother was Bajan (and my maternal grandfather was Trini). Unfortunately, I've not yet been to either of those nations.

First time seeing and hearing this! Lovely! Was actually searching for an 80s folk song that goes something like '' par wum, par wum, par wum........all for Zion''. No clue of the name though.

Thanks for publishing this video. I included it in a post on my cultural blog. Google Pancocojams Bajan Folk Song - Every Time She Pass (The Sandpipe Song) with Lyrics I attempted a transcription of the lyrics as sung in this video. Additions & corrections are welcome. By the way, why is an alternative title "The Sandpipe Song"? Also, on a serious note, I think that men can admire a woman without being obnoxious & too demanding about it. Imo, touching her boomsie really crosses the line.

I was loving your comment until I read to the last part. That's wrong. We Bajan people have our own culture, and if you can't handle the bulk of heterosexuality in it then no one is forcing you to like us. You could have simply shut up and move on to your pro-LGBT culture where you guys always find a problem with a straight man's behaviour. Don't bring that shitty opinion that is causing Caucasian population to decline. We don't need it

standpipe not sandpipe. I'm guessing this is a song you can sing by a standpipe, if you don't know what that is well i can't help you really
