Too much tsubomi hate in this fandom. She's not the devil for just not being impressed by Mob's powers. If anything, it just shows how she sees him in a healthy way - as just a human person. And yeah, the "get a clue" was a bit mean, but she was a child, and we all say mean things sometimes. And besides that it's been shown that, while she has a cooler attitude, she does look out for her friends, including Mob. I feel like people hate her just because she's an intelligent female character who isn't always just nice and cute and who doesn't pander to the feelings of the boys around her. Really feels lowkey mysognystic tbh. She's very cool imo ^^

Exactly! The only reason I don't like her is due to the unnecessary emphasis put on her. Like, she is shown to be relatively superficial, which isn't bad, but it also doesn't explain why mob likes her so much. I'm kind of hoping that in the end, mob won't get her, but even better, he will grow out of his childish crush and manage to find someone who is genuinely important to him. As of now, she is one of the FEW examples of mob being antifatic with his beliefs, so I think the lesson will be I'm getting over her. He seems to like her only because she is preety. But being preety is like being an ESPER. According to mob, it shouldn't be enough of a reason to place someone on a pedestal, and yet, he does. Shes making mob a hypocrite :(

Tsubomi rejects him, and he doesn't show interest in any other girl either. That's cause that was never the point of the series, rather, that being Mob's own growth and self perception. His crush on Tsubomi ends up being just another puzzle piece in his psychology. Meaningful, but not necessary to pursue to gain happiness.

I'm surprised that in spite of Mob placing her on so high a pedestal that everyone around her is literally a bunch of vegetables that the story actually gives a pretty balanced portrayal of her as a person. As limited as her screen time is she's not so vaguely drawn a character that they're above portraying her as superficial just to make her look perfect. Also I was beginning to think Mob's memories of her were kind of one sided but the first episode of season two does confirm that she is in fact aware of him and his powers and takes her time to look out for him. I love Mob Psycho 100 but I hate how they butchered an aspect of Tsubomi's character. Tsubomi is supposed to be this demure, distant mature girl who was never impressed by Mob's power in the first place (Tsubomi saying "Wow, how cute" is a scene from Mob's dream in an omake in the manga, which shows how he wants to perceive her instead of how she actually is). I think even the one who made her character design said that he made Tsubomi too much like a "heroine" as opposed to her canon portrayal - more subdued and colder.

I can understand Mob around Tsubomi. I have my own Tsubomi (except she's not my childhood friend) and i also want to make myself more physically appealing by training because i'm kind of skinny. But even then i'm not sure if that would be enough. She's very hard to impress and would start a conversation with literally anyone but me. I've known her for quite some time now but it feels almost the same as day one. She even gets along with some of MY friends on facebook instead of me. Heck, i think that if i had psychic powers like Mob she would still be uninterested. She's THAT difficult. But even so i don't see her as a mean person or anything. Unfortunately, a few days later her grandmother started having health problems and ultimately passed away on the first week of january. During that time i offered to help her family with what i could from the distance (we were in different countries) while she asked people for help via Facebook and Whatsapp. One day she wrote a post thanking all the people who helped gathering info about the location of medical equipment (hospitals didn't have enough medical resources to treat patients) saying that everything was fine and that her grandmother was on her way to recovery. She even used emojis. But the truth is she was lying. Her grandmother was in a critical condition and the doctors basically sent her home to die. I naturally believed her words, completely unaware of what was really happening over there. It was during those times that she, maybe looking for a distraction from everything going on, opened her email and read my letter. She also did this because the same day i sent her the letter i told her to read her mail when she had the time (i wanted to give her a surprise). You can imagine her first impression being utterly ruined by the situation and my reaction when i found out she had read the letter in the worst possible moment. She didn't even tell me anything until i asked about her grandmother. She then told me that she felt ''uncomfortable'' with my letter and that it was not the right moment to talk about it. She wasn't sleeping well, was stressed and constantly worried so that talk was suspended for another time. A month passed (now february) and with Valentine's Day approaching i thought it would be nice if we could at least have a little chat about the letter that day. I left her a message but her reply that day (february 12) marked the end of our friendship. I know it might not have been enough time for her to recover from her loss but valentines is only once a year and i just wanted her to tell me what she really thought about the letter. She again told me she felt ''uncomfortable'' with the letter and basically that in her eyes i was some kind of stalker. To the letter, i added my side of the story from over 8 years of knowing each other, when i first met her, my struggles through college (i'm a stutterer), how i gave it my all for her, my birthday gifts, everything. But she kept saying the same thing and would not listen to me nor read my messages at all. She writes a message for me to read but then doesn't read and ignores my replies. She was basically like '''blah blah blah, i can't hear you, you are a stalker, period''. And that's how it ended. She deleted me from facebook but i still have her Whatsapp (i didn't want to be the one deleting the contact so i just left it there). The last thing she wrote was that she won't reply to my messages anymore. It's very sad and unfair but i can't do anything to change her mind now. I think there's more to it than just the letter and it has to do with her ex. After she dumped him she hasn't been with anyone else. It has been like 6 or 7 years since then. She was my first true love and i dedicated so much time to her but now i'm just hurt and sad. There's nothing i can do now except keep moving forward.
