Best advice I ever got was in my first creative writing course in college-buy a journal then scribble on a few pages so you don’t feel like you have to write something momentous to start, then just keep writing. I used to hand write most things (I’m 40 so computers and cell phones weren’t real commonplace back in college) and while I type most everything now due to length, I print things out to edit as it’s easier and then make corrections on computer. I like to be able to see everything, not just a portion of a page. There are times when I’m super motivated to write but can’t at that moment and by the time I get to my computer, I’m not anymore but I at least jot down some notes.
