The other day I had a theory that Mary Shelley writing Frankenstein as a teenager made me believe Frankenstein was her Wattpad fantasy of her perfect boyfriend. This has fueled my theory.

The first reading of Frankenstein really is a special one. I didnt know what to expect, but it wasn't as good as what i got.

@darbysnacks very much so! Also, so many stories within stories. The layer cake of letters to [sea captain's sister [Victor Frankenstein's exhaustive life story [the creature's life story [blind granddad's life story[I think then a 5th layer I've forgotten]]]]] is so insane, and yet it still works and somehow didn't feel like excessive or indulgent because its all thematically so relevant!
