@CaliGramz Жыл бұрын
@@tousenkaname231 You only say that given the time period it was in. If the show came out today, it would definitely be frowned upon. The show is centered around sex and lacks sophistication. They literally group up and gossip about sex, a failing marriage because of Maya's affair, Antoinette 'Toni's' gold digging ways with no existing morals, and Lynn's inability to find herself, who becomes depressed and too dependent of others that she lives with Joan rent-free. The only male lead, Reggie, follows Joan around like a lost puppy because of his undying crush, that she ran through dozens of men before getting with him. The only serious issue that I remember they tackled well was the race situation between Lynn and her sister from a white family who adopted her and the sister blurted out the n-word. Sex and The City is another example. The only show that was done with taste stopped at Living Single.

If she's American she probably is okay with make genital mutilation and vilifying the natural male penis. Americans are baby boy mutilators. Such "male privilege"... Cultures that mutilate their sons' genitals are not civilized at all. USA, Israel, Muslim nations - all baby torturing genital mutilators. All minors should be protected from non life saving procedures, AKA, MUTILATION! It's cruel, barbaric and disgusting. Americans mutilate baby boy genitals and sell foreskin cells online to put in cosmetics and for cosmetic companies to test their product on, then they call their product "cruelty free", because it wasn't tested on the poor animals. America is a country of child torturers and genital mutilators. At least Germany tried to ban circumcision in 2016 or somewhere thereabouts, then the USA bullied them to repeal it. Children deserve their whole bodies. They deserve protection from all non life saving procedures. It's almost 2024...and boys are treated like farma animals. Look up Human Foreskin Fibroblasts for sale. You can buy neonatal, baby, foreskin cells on Sigma Aldrich website and other websites. FOIA requests show that USA hospitals harvest baby foreskin. This is degrading, disgusting and evil. Circumcision. Foreskin is healthy densely innervated highly erogenous tissue. Americans have mutilated baby boys' genitals for over 70 years. 80.5% of American men have had healthy erogenous tissue from their penis cut off at birth. Is that freedom? Circumcision is male genital mutilation. If you're against harming children, you should be against baby boys being strapped down to circumstraint tables, gagged, and having the most sensitive parts of their body, their penis probed, peeled back and sliced off. Europe and tha majorit of the world denounces male genital mutilation. But Americans are still stubbornly mutilating over 1 million boys a year in the USA alone. The body stores the trauma via survival stress physiology of the nervous system. Look up Somatic Experiencing and Irene Lyon for more info. She is a practitioner that will give you all the info on Polyvagal theory and how trauma is stored in the body with references, books and other supporting info from dozens of other practitioners and researchers who have hundreds of other citations themselves. Somatic Experiencing and the somatic modalities of psychotherapy in general have been the most effective way for me to deal with trauma and actually release it and teach my body that it is now safe for it to truly get out of flight fight freeze to begin to actually rest and repair and heal. Chronic illness is most often just trapped trauma to the point where the body can't keep up with repairs so it looks like disease. Of you're in fight flight freeze, you don't repair and recover properly. This is why people with more adverse childhood events have much more chronic illnesses and symptoms. Preverbal somatic trauma is real. Before you can speak and consciously recall memories of the time when you were a baby, you can be traumatized because you can feel pain and threat if you are not attended to by an attuned adult. This puts you fight flight freeze, but since you're a baby you cannot fight or flee, you go into preservation mode and numb out and disassociate. What we do to babies matters. Think about circumcision. Male genital mutilation is the en masse sexual damaging and truamatization of over 1 million boys a year in the USA alone. 1.4 million in 2022 in USA alone. This is a human rights violation that traumatizes the baby boy. Men don't even have rights over their own cocks, and they deserve the basic human right of all their genitals. If it is not a life saving procedure it is mutilation. Normalize NOT cutting up your sons' cocks, America. Normalize men owning their own cocks, and not having their cocks be public property of their parents and America. Circumcision, male genital mutilation, is immoral and disgusting. Most Americans, conservatives or liberals, love to ignore this. The USA mutilated 1.4 million baby boys in 2022 alone. Over 4,000 a day. 80.5% of men in USA are cut, no consent, they don't know how authentic sex feels like. Then the USA jokes about circumcision in their crappy TV shows and movies. Only a slave would joke about his own violation and the violation of other baby boys. Christians in your country can't read the New Testament properly, it seems. Apostle Paul calls circumcision mutilation and emasculation. Foregen is a biotech company that is fully reversing circumcision with regenerative medicine. This is beyond foreskin restoration which doesn't bring back the inner mucosal lining, Meissner's corpuscles, fine touch receptors, and other musculature like the dartos muscle. Over 6500+ species of mammals have foreskins. That isn't a mistake. Do animals take better care of themselves than humans? Europe knows better, Japan, too...the majority of the world, in fact. His penis is his own, it's not the family penis. To deny any of this is to be emotionally avoidant, willfully ignorant - and from ignorance comes acts of evil.

I would love more female leads like Tiana from Princess and The Frog. She was smart, goal oriented, but kept a playful and nurturing feminine side to her. She also wasn’t perfect from the start. She dedicated her entire life-every minute to trying to create a thriving business, to fulfill the wish her father (whom was a huge role model for her) never got to fulfill. Along the way, she learns life isn’t just about success or money, it’s also about love and companionship. I love that movie, and the lesson it teaches, and it’s perfectly capable of making their female lead likable without dumbing down every male character in the show just to make her shine.

@CthulhuTheory Жыл бұрын
My favorite thing about the female led shows are how the patriarchy is this big boogeyman that oppresses women, yet women are in all the positions of power. Prime example: Supergirl. It's kinda weird how they can't have a show without it. As though this concept is intrinsically tied to the character of every woman in existence. And the irony is the women are always able to beat the men at all levels regardless with little to no difficulty.

Just one example. Wand in the Wanda Vision series: Wanda: Imprisoned an entire town with her magic, made them relive her horrors in their minds 24/7, the *kids* in that town who also relived Wanda's horrors in their minds only came out to the streets sometimes and were in slumber in their houses while everyone else was controlled, and one controlled character even said she'd rather die than to continued like that and begged Wanda to at least release the children. We don’t hate strong female characters. Some of my favorite fictional characters are women (Toph, Katara, Rita Vrataski, Black Widow, Wonder Woman, [original] Sarah Connor, Ellen Ripley, Princess Leia, Clarice Starling, to name a few). In fact, my favorite Disney movie was about an ACTUAL strong independent woman who risked her life to defend her family’s honor, save her old and crippled father from going to war. Saved an entire nation against barbarians, and regained her love. All we need are strong characters that happen to be female, we dgaf what they are and where they’re from or how they look like. Just stop giving up recycled race gender swapped characters who weren’t anywhere near to the lead’s origins.
@zaerogartorias9890 Жыл бұрын
Mulan isn't the best example. 😂 Independent woman means that she can provide for herself which she couldn't, as she was living on her father's property, and stole HIS gear to go to said war. She also was complete ass until trained by a man, obtaining a dragon guardian, AND a lucky cricket. All she had outside of that was her quirky clever plans and guess what. It's still one of my favorite Disney movies with a female lead. She had to earn her victory, nearly at the cost of her life. OOOHHH but we see how they did the remake. They even removed my favorite song "make a man out of you" when the point was that they didn't need a man! Their thinking was too one sided which is why without her they all would've died. PS. I am for sure team Toph, Ripley, and Sarah connor all the way! Gotta agree with you there.

Being a woman I finally understand you don’t need to go out of your way to be accepted. It’s something that just comes naturally with knowing who you are and being it unapologetically not from a place of needing validation. It’s not about agenda. seeing the woman being defensless loser whose only purpose is to serve the man seems great for the male gaze but it’s getting boring very easily. Also most of people watching tv do it as a form of escapism, like playing video games, so of course the unnatural high powered woman might not do anything to you but some women find it cool, same with gay stuff, might not be interesting to us , but it gives homosexuals a reality they can escape to. They have all have the right to be excited about stuff where they can see themselves for some times. I think that’s great tbh, we can always go back to older movies where none of those things didn’t exist and enjoy them, these new shows helps those that never had those chance.

The first thing I learned in school for construction management was to make your wife or mother the CEO if you ever own a business for tax breaks and a higher likelihood of getting job requests because its a law that you have to consider a woman led business for public construction projects. That’s how women become CEOs, so it makes perfect sense for these shows to have incompetent female CEOs that just magically show up there.

The reason the question was oppressive was because asking a question is demanding mental labor from the woman, when you could've just googled it. (This is an actual thing I was told when asking a friend why she disliked a celebrity). Also the reason this character is bisexual is because people like this hijacked the plight of LGBT people. It's not about being inclusive. It's about, "How can we make other people's suffering about me?"

He'd be laughed at and told "you want a medal?". The only other person I know that need pat on their back for doing mundane normal shit are CHILDREN. Modern women are CHILDREN. "OOOOooOooh such a big girl. You put up that oh so difficult shower head on all by yourself like a big girl." *pats back*. Literally what she got as a response. Stop rewarding women for mediocrity.
