The unnamed dragons actually do have names. I’m just a better researcher than you I guess😏. I’m not trying to show off, but these are the names of those dragons as proven through my research. 3:12 is a “vulture claw”, 4:00 is a “fire fang” , 5:36 that my friend is a “spike back” image they used. 6:12 that one is a “slither fang”. If you look up httyd followed by these names, you’ll see images of these dragons pop up. Also, 10:34 yes those are actually sniffle hunches with animation animation. But if they were a unique species of dragon, I would call them “SUN BASKERS”. They would be a Stoker class dragon, and they would prefer to live in lakes, not inside the water, but on the beaches surrounding it where the sand is and we’re great spike sloped rocks, laying there in their dozens for a sun basker to lay on top of and absorb the heat from the sun to their fin.

So like, my theory is that all the 2nd Gen dragons (all that were introduced in the HTTYD 2) are actually very closely related. And so there is a lot of mix-breeding and hybridisation happening. That is why there are some dragons that just go unnamed. They aren't really new species, but hybrids of already existing ones.

Some name options: 3:12 Windclaw 4:01 Blubberfang / Firefang (it has to have something to do with those tusks/fangs) 5:35 Cutterback / Windcutter 6:12 Horned Devil (it looks related to the Monstrous Nightmare) 8:14 Woolly Tusk / Ice Tail (That concept art is definitely some hybrid with Bewilderbeast, Woolly Howl, Large Shadow and Smothering Smokebreath) 10:33 Snuffleback (it's really simple like just a subspecie of the Snufflehunch) 12:48 That front one definitely looks like Light Fury baby. 15:25 I wouldn't even try to reconstruct a dragon from the skull since the Monstrous Nightmare skull does NOT work (see episode The Night and the Fury)

This here is what peeved me about the second film (still love it though) and the third film ( Love to hate it). alot of the dragons where just thrown to the backround. never named or characterized, just little blips and shapes on the screen that you can barely make out. I wish the proceeding films leaned into giving us more info about all the dragons like the first one did, as its why everyone loved the shows. hell, unnamed dragon 2 is so cute!
