I've welded before I bought a 90s Audi Quattro but I was too tall to fit in the car (the moonroof in it's stock form would sever my head in a crash) So to get it to fit I went to two brother in Petaluma who had a 240z shop I actually got out the welder with their supervision and welded out the sublayer of metal so that my head would fit I even drove in that same car from California to Minnesota to visit my dad all by myself with no air conditioning I drank lots of water) So yeah, I forgot how it feels like to weld. Thanks for reminding me of that part of my life.

The worst eye burn I ever had was from mig flux-core. I was wearing my shield and everything but after using flux core all day it absolutely toasted my eyes. I've done mostly stick welding, some tig, but nothing compares to flux core burning my eyes. You want extra shade using that stuff.
