@@kellyanderson7624 it’s not disrespectful nor is anyone ignoring the other country singers of the same ethnicity. It’s a direct sample and he’s showing homage. If he was ignoring the other “Black” people before him he probably wouldn’t even think to be a country singer judging by the way of your thinking. Nice try though.

I stopped watching awards shows a long time ago. But I happened to come across this, and I'm happy he brought Jwon on there. Great performance.

That was pretty good and favorite performance of the whole show. The line dancing, violin, bass, and the keyboard, and it was all in a bar theme just put a smile on my face.

This was great to see. I love how J-Kwon came out in the end and they mashed up both songs with the back and forth (club/bar). But even more I love that Black artists who are outside of Hip Hop and R&B are getting a stage at the BET Awards. Can we do this for all genres? So many talented deserving artists who are making amazing music. We are a multifaceted race and the biggest Stage for the culture should reflect that.

Country music is blues with a twist! Black people just moved away from country music because RnB artists were making more money back in the 60’s and 70’s. I am glad we are getting back to the country music genre now!
