Merlin could have saved Morgana in so many ways...but he didn't trust her since the dragon told him that she is evil...he could have told her the reason for poisoning her..before doing so..he could have asked Morgana not to give the crystal to the druids...instead of telling uther where the druids were...when Merlin killed her..he said..he blames himself for her fate..he was quite right..

sorry if i am late to this comment but yeah this sums up for merlin he could of avoided so many deaths and fates worst than that if he didn't listen to kilagrahh all the time and made judgement calls for him self heck could of told morganna in that burial ground about his magic since she wasn't that far gone yet

Lawliet river It wasn't deleted scene, it is in the episode that Morgana's chamber was on fire in Season 2, it is episode 3, the Nightmare begins
