Dusty broke up the Rock n roll Express because they were more over then him. Robert said he once told them "Nobody sells out the coliseum without me on the card".

I respect Dusty as a mentor but I heard many wrestlers like him as a booker and many wrestlers disliked him as a booker too (shout-out to Ronnie Garvin).

I believe Dusty's last WWF match was a tag match at Royal Rumble 1991 where Dusty & Dustin took on DiBiase & Virgil where DiBiase scored the pin on Dusty.

I was shocked since the Rhodes/Dibiase feud didn't had no positive payoff between the Rhodes Family and Ted Dibiase.

This wasn’t Dusty’s first appearance in the WWWF. He came in to wrestle Superstar Billy Graham when Sammartino dropped the title to him. It is told that Vince Sr. Considered Dusty before he promised the belt to Backlund. After all Dusty could play the part of a baby face just like Sammartino. Don’t know if the McMahons would want Dusty in a command position, he usually wanted to purchase part of the territory in lieu of salary.

Exactly, Dusty was there back in the 70s. Vince wanted to humiliated Dusty and bury Dusty as revenge for Dusty leaving the WWWF back in the 70s and going to JCP , Mid Atlanta Wrestling.

As a credit to Dusty Rhodes he got over even with the ridiculous gimmick McMahon put on him. Dusty, like him or not, knew how to work the fans, he could deliver a great promo, and he knew how to get over.

Maybe the credit goes to Vince for getting an old fat guy over.

Dusty was in the WWWF in the 70s. He left to go to work for JCP ,Mid Atlanta Wrestling in Charlotte NC. Dusty was introduced in the JCP as a tag team partner for Jim Crockett Jr. Jim Crockett Jr had a story line to wrestle Ric Flair and after Flair signed the contract it was in small print that the match would be a handicap match with Jim Crockett and a wrestler of his choice .Jim Crockett brought in Dusty Rhodes as his tag team partner . The rest folk's is history. Dusty had found a home and stayed with the company until Ted Turner bought out Jim Crockett and no blood was to be on tv. Well Dusty let the Road Warriors bust him open and the blood flowing got Dusty fired. Needing a job Dusty then called Vince.

Yeah he was but couldn't be Sammartino or Backlund cause they was the guys. I believe that's why Vince got pissed and did what he did in 89 anyway yeah he was wwwf but Sammartino Backlund was the problem cause he wouldn't been the man back then. You know that which is why he went back to the nwa.he was screwed no matter what. That what is hangs

Dusty was working for Eddie Graham in Florida when he made those appearances up "NORTH" to wrestle Billy Graham for those series of matches, but he wasn't a member of their roster. After that series of matches were over, he resumed his career in Florida before leaving for NWA Crockett Promotions in 1984, taking half the roster with him to become the head booker.
