Kotaboy could you make a video that shows new builders the tools they need and the tools they build an AR without. My first complete upper and lower build I had to make a wooden fixture to hold the upper while I torqued the barrel nut. Needless to say that is a dangerous way to install a barrel and I had to go buy one. The cost of the tools will add to the cost of your first build and it's easy to overlook. Thanks stay safe, hopefully we can get back to work SOON!

Hey Kota, just my two cents, get a Wolff Extra power spring or an H1 buffer in that gun. The rifle is slightly over gassed (slightly forward ejection). That's why your not getting lock back, the bolt is outrunning the parts. If you slow that bolt down a little that gun will run 100%. Great video as usual!

@evskiicf39984 жыл бұрын
I’ve gotta wonder, what’s the point of a 6.5 grendel pistol?
@luckyomen4 жыл бұрын
The 6.5 Grendel has a flatter trajectory and more energy at range. This is to overcome the ballistic limits of standard .223/5.56 out of the same length barrel. If my build is accurate enough, I should be able to reach out to 300yds with enough energy to deer hunt (wouldn't take a shot that far unless I had a clear target with positive ID) but it's in a small enough package to make it easy to carry in the Bush or store in a truck safely. The bullet also has solid close range ability that makes it a good, all-rounder weapon. I'm a 1 gun guy and wanted to have my cake and throw it 300yds too.
@evskiicf39984 жыл бұрын
Stuckgrenadepin I don’t believe that because everyone said the same thing about 300 blackout but it’s not true. A 16” barrel still gets higher velocities out of 300 blackout. Than say a 12” barrel. I’d have to see some tests on it

Dude... Why don't you sight in at 25, then 50, then 100? This is just too imprecise, you're not really giving it a fair shake. If you get on at 25, you get windage correction at 25, elevation should be a tad low. Then you push to 50, and recheck windage. Adjust elevation depending on your desired zero. You're doing it more difficult than necessary.

Check your recoil spring length. The bolt is locking back on the mag instead of the bolt lock like it should. Happened to me on a build. My recoil spring was thw wrong length.
@danieldotter60774 жыл бұрын
JustinTime trying to understand how that would make sense. The mag follower is what pushes up the bolt catch, causing the bolt to lock back after the last round. There’s no way for it to “lock back on the mag”. Some mags with weak springs or bad/uneven followers can cause it not to put enough pressure on the bolt catch for it to reliably hold open but at no point can the magazine itself interfere with the action of the bolt causing it to hold open
