I have a rolling cart to the side of my vanity with 15 drawers. I “shop” every day in these drawers for a look that goes with my outfit and what I’m feeling. Being able to see what I have and make choices every day makes it fun and helps counter (er, sort of) my desire to acquire more. Says the woman who just ordered the new Lisa Eldridge lipstick ( engraved!) and two refill shades🤪

All of my makeup lives in my vanity drawers. The top middle drawer is my everyday drawer, but it’s really easy to reach into the other drawers too.

I love these types of shop my stash videos! My collection is tiny (mostly lipsticks) so have no real need to rotate but I do do a lipstick roulette or 7 days of lipstick type of challenges to make sure they all get used. Does that comment mean you got all of the new Lisa Eldridge ones? If so, could you please compare Lisa with Sunday Matinée and Ashes of Roses with Muse? Thank you!🙏

I have similar acrylic holders to yours, plus one dresser drawer (my make up lives on/in my dresser). The only things I really switch out seasonally are lipsticks, and there only the really peachy/coral tones from spring/summer for more berries and reds for fall/winter; the neutrals stay where they are year round. I've gotten pretty strict with myself that I won't buy more than what fits into my storage setup. Mostly because I like how it looks on my dresser and I don't want to go bigger, but also to try to make sure I use things up before they go bad and so I don't get overwhelmed. I have a friend's daughter I pass some lightly used makeup off to when it doesn't work out for me, but otherwise I try to make sure I return things that don't work out while I can, and use up what does work for me. So for example there are a couple bronzers I really want to test out but I know they won't fit, so I'm not buying them yet, they will stay on my Sephora wish list.

Hmmm, how I keep my makeup rotating through? So glad you asked! Hard rules don't work for me, so I usually pull a couple of items, as you just did, and use them for about a 2-3 week period. I try to use everything and take note of what I am struggling with...longevity, ease of use, smell, colors tory, etc. I gently declutter as I go, and miraculously go through product! I've culled my horde as I've done this by over 1/2 and am feeling very satisfied by my collection. Now, I dont.feel the need to purchase more hardly at all, well, except marketing is a thing, and I know if I resist long enough, the marketing will move on. On a side note, I have maybe 60 single shades of depotted colors from palettes and some SG.singles, so if I fancy a wonderful.colorstory, I recreate it. Saves my sanity and my bank account.

I love how you declutter. I need to start doing that, and getting rid of what I don't like, or what doesn't work for me. I always struggle with decluttering makeup because of how much I paid for it. I need to get over that, and purchase more mindfully. There's so much that I want to try, but I don't need. I need to let the marketing wash over me, and move on. Hi Lipstick Gal, I'm 55 and fell in love with makeup at a 52. can you even? I like your taste very much, and how genuine you are. Unfortunately, I have a KZbinr collection although I am not one, and I 'm still completely disorganized. This video gave me ideas. I 've always loved seasonal rotation with colors, mostly for palettes and lipsticks. 🙂

I LOVE that you fell in love with makeup recently. It's such a fun way to express yourself. I love it for the colors and textures, and how I can dress up or dress down my face depending on what I feel like. I don't pay full price for my acrylic storage bins, I pick them up at Marshalls or TJ Maxx. I also use IKEA Bins to sort and store my products. I feel like having a dedicated space (my IKEA KALLAX unit) to put all my acrylic shelves and storage bins really makes a difference. I didn't start out this organized. (If you can call it that) I started out with bags of makeup everywhere in the bathroom. Thanks so much for watching today.

I'm terrible at doing a project pan. I tried once several years ago, and didn't finish a single thing. I like variety, and that's why I have so much. I have been wrestling with this issue as I have purchased wayyyyy too much makeup the past few years. And it has been a voyage of improving my skills and finding products that really work best for me. You have inspired me to do a monthly curation as well. ❤🎉 Cool video Rebecca, I think Simply Blair does similar ones where she decides her upcoming monthly rotations. I'm recently focusing on my Dior powder blushes and lipsticks, and RdF Eye Soots. I also rediscovered my Glossier Boy Brow the gel thing in Brown, and wow I guess I figured out how to use it. It stayed forever on my brows and I got complimented on how I was looking better etc -- I'm convinced brows are just that important and my Boy Brow was the game changer for me. So I can't wait to keep using it.😀 It's the little things right? Also I guess I'd have to confess that my choices and what I consider their excellent quality... uphold the adage you get what you pay for. Unfortunately lol😅. My collection is obviously smaller than yours 😂 Most complexion products I have 2-4 of. But, blushes and lipsticks I have a ‘healthy amount’ of, especially for someone who doesn’t review makeup for a living. I rotate things seasonally based on my skin tone and texture. I’ve recently switched out my fall/winter skin tints, foundations and cream contoures and bronzers. The CT cream bronzer is my favorite for the winter. For my blushes and lipsticks I always pull out a variety of peach, pink, red and a seasonal shade like berry or coral so I usually have a rotation of 8 on top of my organizer. How do i rotate my collection based on 2 strategies: The things I have for a long time and gotta use up. Seasonal changes for my skintone and type. Wear more matte items in the summer and I also use more creams in the winter/night time. Anything that annoys me (stuff thats expired, didnt work for me) gets tossed asap.

Please forgive this unrelated question, but have you reviewed the new Givenchy lipstick formula yet? I’ve searched some of your luxury lipstick videos (which are great!) but not sure if I’ve seen it. I’d like to know if you think Le Rouge Interdit new satin formula is good for mature lips. I’m concerned about a bright red feathering out around the lips, which can look ghastly.

I haven't tried the new formulation of the Givenchy lipsticks because I was so disappointed with the previous versions. I tried 3 different ones (balm, satin, and matte) and they were all very drying on my lips. I didn't want to pick up the reformulations because I just wasn't impressed with the previous versions. Sorry I can't help you.
