Too Cool to handle i would say for this ........ and you made this in 2020 version in the same year 2020 and that's another amazing thing .... Now its been three years and Never thought an adaptive family could be this much flexible for making a CHAIN family .... Thanks a million for making this beautiful tutorial video .......

Brilliant stuff! I am an architect and as such a chain may not be something I model with any regularity. But for goodness sake following this tutorial one can obtain such an in depth understanding of the the way Revit works at high levels and its intricacies that if mastered would help a great deal with modelling very complex buildings. What makes this particular tutorial so 'riveting' is the fact that the chain has been made 'adaptive' which throws such a light on the application of this brilliant concept in Revit. I Liked many of your tutorials and Subscribed to your channel!

Thanks for your support and I'm glad that you find it helpful. I agree with you. When I was asked about this idea, I didn't think anyone should model this. But after I figured out the potential method in the shower (yes, I remember I drew this out on the shower screen), I found it not unreasonable (please excuse my vocabulary) anymore. It was the first time I found out that there are different options for the repeater. I learn new things every day as well. Let's keep studying. :)

Im just starting revit but i know what you mean you say you learn new things everyday. Im an autocad geek. I even write my own vlisp functions. Working with autocad in more than 2 decades, still i learn new things (and fine-tuning) almost everyday. The biggest thing i learned is I should have started learning Revit years ago!

Super cool! I love how you always show us how to use it in the project after modelling it! Also, I can imagine myself using this to add some little details in a shipyard / dockyard design! Thank you!!

Great lesson, but when I made this and load chain in my project, and I need 125 chains different length from ceiling "droped like rain" from it in interior, by design, Revit "died" it was so slow even on my Ryzen 32 cores, 128 GB memory, and 11 GB Nvidia RTX 1080...
@BINHE615
@BINHE615 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, it is normal. Because each segment this chain family is an individual family and there are probably thousands of them in your file. I recommend you only use this if it is close to your camera, and only do simple extrusions for the rest of them.

Awesome video, I am BIM Modeller and it's pretty helpful for me. I have one problem if you can help me to resolve it, I have one generic revit family and when I load it into the project I am not able to rotate it in section views. There are lots of solution on internet. Do you know any easy solution to do it better? Thank you for sharing
@BINHE615
@BINHE615 3 жыл бұрын
The easiest way (or trick) is to change it to Mechanical Equipment (TBC) Or, try to uncheck the Always Vertical option. If it still doesn't work, you can check the Work Plane Based option if it is available, then place this family onto a proper work plane.
