Everybody always says the same thing. On the front end its "Wow that seems like a lot of trouble." On the back end it's "That was the best steak I've ever eaten!" There's never a "I did it and...meh." This was a fun video from the opening to the end. You guys seem like you've known each other all your lives. Loved it!

Thanks, Justin! It honestly felt that way. We had good energy right away. This was really a cool experience and I hope it’s a good one for David and ABC. I really enjoyed this even though I was nervous for weeks leading up to it. Everything went perfect! Thanks for watching, my friend!

So why would the grill grate not be hot after it's already been over the direct heat one time?
@EverydayBBQ
@EverydayBBQ 5 жыл бұрын
It cools while it’s off the heat enough to not cause char marks on the meat. The goal with this technique is to sear from heat only and not grates.

How much salt did you put on the steak, and how did you store it for the two days? Also, did you rinse off the salt before cooking?
@EverydayBBQ
@EverydayBBQ 6 жыл бұрын
Hi, Paul! I used approximately 1/2 teaspoon of kosher salt on each side of each steak and then left it on a rack uncovered in the fridge for approximately 36 hours or two nights before the cook.

Wish I could, Ron. Trust me on that. I love doing it. If I had the time and the money, I’d do a video every day. I literally have to make the time to film and edit one per week for now. Hey, JP! I used about 1/2 teaspoon of Kosher salt on each side of each steak, placed them on a rack (so air could flow underneath, and left them uncovered for roughly 36 hours. Results spoke for themselves. Thanks so much for watching and commenting! I am grateful brother! 🍻

Is "Cold Grate" a misnomer? Because there is no way that you can spin that grate over a hot bed of coals and it goes "cold"...maybe less hot but not cold.....lol
@EverydayBBQ

Yes, less hot is a good way to put it. It’s cool enough to allow the fire to cook/sear instead of the grates.
