As always great video, and great work. Others have mentioned you're pricing, all I'll say is trade customers will drop you like a sack of spuds if they think you're too expensive. It's a bit of a balancing act between keeping trade customers happy and earning what you're worth. Anyhow...glad to see you've discovered PERL & Aero 303. I've been using both a number of years. 303 on engine bays leaves a nice finish, although not as cost effective as PERL, which you can dilute. 303 also offers good UV protection so great for finishing off headlights that have been wetsanded for example. Have yet to use KC H9. How does it compare to H8. Keep up the great work, and the videos. All the best Dave. 👍👍

Have you tried using ready mask instead of using loads of masking tape? You’ve probably seen it before. But incase you haven’t! It’s a roll of thin plastic sheet that is electrostatic charge so it clings to the job. It has a line of 3/4 inch masking tape attached to 1 side. And when you pull a length off the dispenser you then detach it using the built in cutting strip on the dispenser. Iafter stitching it you then unfold the plastic to 4 times it’s width! You buy the dispenser and roll of plastic sheet together then you just buy the roll when needed. It comes in 4 inch that opens upto 16 inch. And 10 inches that opens up to 4 foot!! It’s ideal for the wheels, body, brakes etc. And is less labour intensive, and more cost effective! I’ve used it for years for domestic, commercial, and automotive painting! Hope this helps bud!! Love your format and commentary. It’s a winning formula!!

Yes, CarPro Pearl is a great product to use it in the motor but if you use the same 303 Protectant you already have inside the motor, it will give you same results. I normally just use soapy water like Dawn and agitate all surfaces with it, then wash it off, then dry it a leave blower or compressed air, then apply the 303 so save $$ ££ €€ on APC.😉 By the way, AM Details has a great clay bar that only needs water as lube, so also allows you to save on lube. Sometimes by just using iron fallout remover named Korrosol from Bilt and Hamber and/or CarPro Trix does such an excellent job that allows you to save time on claying the vehicle. Great product Collonite as well as Fusso coat for black vehicles. It's impressive how you restore those calipers and wheels. I will try what you do since never tried it or done it 🤔😃 Thanks for your review and teachings. Xoxo from Puerto Rico 👍👍👍🇵🇷

Very nice. It cleaned up really nicely. I think it is also in part to it being a VW from that era because they were very well made and high quality. I always wonder about the diamond finish wheels. Are there repairers that can actually get that finish back? When I bought my car, before I took delivery there were some light scuff marks on one rim. The dealership repaired it but it looks only like paint and not like that lathed diamond cut finish of the rest. Also it is only on a small part of it but it is there and I can see it.
@owensteele12744 жыл бұрын
Sorry, but I think the only thing you can do would be to google any dedicated alloy repairers in your area, choose one, then take the car to them to see what they are dealing with. There are thousands more cars on the road with diamond alloys now, so repairers will be seeing them more frequently and should repair your wheels no problem if just minor scuffs.
@everydaydetailing64494 жыл бұрын
They can be re “skimmed” a couple of times depending on the damage! But if they are to bad it’s one colour or replace 😊it’s nothing I can get involved in ... that would be out sourced to another company.

Interesting that you use the yellow pads, chemical guys say it's their most aggressive compounding pad and needs to be followed up with a softer polishing pad. What do you think of it? Is it aggressive enough to take out wet sanding marks? Also where are you based? Do you take one off customers like at the weekend or something?
@everydaydetailing64494 жыл бұрын
Hi if you compare a brand new yellow hex pad to a rupes blue cutting pad, the difference is really noticeable! The rupes is way more aggressive. Yes if you are doing a more involved job you would follow up with a softer pad 👍 but I clean cheaper cars with different customer requirements. No, I did a set of my own wheels about 10 year ago by spray cans and enjoyed it, after seeing people do “smart repairs” in the trade, I picked up a spray gun about 3 years ago! Had some advice and help from a car Pinter/watched KZbin videos, practiced on old “spare wheels” until I could do a ok job 😊 then offered it as a service! Learnt a lot from the Aussie guy on KZbin “the gun man” painter in Australia.

@@everydaydetailing6449 Im a DIY at home, not offering a trade, but have done wheels on my very old trailer and about to do my Daughters 15 year old car, so fun watching your video's. What Spray gun did you buy and are you happy with it? I'm currently spraying a panel on an old Mk1 Audi TT. See what lockdown does for you!

@@everydaydetailing6449 Ah, just missed your reply and pressed the buy button on the Devibiss FLG5. Even though my first gun was not cheap, like £20, I wasnt happy with the results. The FLG5 has had rave reviews for its price and even from your favourite Gunman!

Working on it! Needs better editing as well :) In truth though as a smaller youtuber .. sometimes you upload a high quality video and it gets squashed quite a bit .. larger channels get higher resolution :)
