Used the color mixer to perfectly match a properly exposed x-rite color checker classic for all my cameras under different lighting situations. Once you dial in the hue, saturation, and luminance it is insane the difference it makes with just one click.

Great instruction as always. I have been using ACR much more after taking your courses, and BTW, the new Palette Effects 3 is simply awesome. I especially enjoy the brush presets you included, which are also awesome for dodging and burning.

Great tips, Blake. This gave me a short KZbin break from the PEIII education. I am being disciplined and going through all of the education, even though I have watched a lot of it in the previous version. I am dying to get to the painting palette videos. The new panel looks great. Just starting to play with it. Hope you and your family are staying safe and healthy.

Thanks for the concise explanations, often explanations get off in the weeds and I end up more confused than when I started.

Terrific tutorial, Blake! This was a great explanation and very helpful to know as we are about to move into fall with a great deal of colors! Some follow-up questioning, though, that I would like for you to clarify and offer instruction. In the video, you moved the Targeted Adjustment Tool left-right. When do you move the Tool up-down and what is the difference and when do you choose you direction instead of the other? Thank you again for this great instruction!
@f64Academy4 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! Great for fall color! I move left and right because that's what I'm used to with the sliders, you can go up and down, no difference 😁

So you're choosing ramping up individual colors against the backdrop of the whole image's overall colors, that sounds great and also brings to mind, that maybe you can blur your overall colors to get a key color from which back in the original image you can use the color adjustment tool to cluster select and ramp up against the blurred on the original color choice, still having the original in view, this may be where current and all layers choice comes in, or blend if? Found this fascinating! Thanks!

I love that it is fast it's a great tool but I really like playing with the Calibration sliders in Adobe camera Raw maybe because until recently I never messed with them 🤷🏻♂️. I love your videos it helps me remember the program as life has pulled me away from editing as much as I used to.
@f64Academy4 жыл бұрын
I agree, it is wicked fast, but calibration is so important! "Life gets in the way when you are busy making other plans" - John Lennon don't worry,your art will always be there for you!
@christophmunch47964 жыл бұрын
Yes - in landscape photos (and many others) to get that "pop" it's often sufficient to just go to the calibration tab and push the saturation slider of the blue channel. Mostly I don't touch the red and green channels. I just finish the photo by going into Nik Collection - Color Efex Pro - Pro Contrast and applying a healthy dose of "dynamic contrast".

Can you offer some insight regarding 'White'? It's composed of equal parts of RGB but in HSL and the Targeted adjustment tool, only Red is affected? I really would have thought all 3 colors would be affected but, not. I was attempting to lower the brightness without turning a bright white gray. This is a real question.
@f64Academy4 жыл бұрын
Interesting. I'll look into that,it should be a mixture of 255 R 255 G 255 B. Maybe it defaults to Red because it is the first on the list, haha

@@f64Academy Even when I tested creating a new White document it did the same thing? I didn't add any colors.
@f64Academy4 жыл бұрын
Not sure, it's probably just something the Adobe algorithm.
