Anivia being an ice phoenix is already an inversion of the classic fire Phoenix, so removing that difference would make Anivia less interesting imo.

To change the theme of the character altogether Just like Blackfrost Anivia isin't about peaceful harmony anymore And I don't see anyone complaining about Papercraft Anivia still being ice-themed, except for some model and vfx changes. If Riot tried to make an epic or lower tier skin of that sort, without changing the voice lines, just like they've done with the Infernal skinline - save for Nasus, obviously - then ye, that'd make no sense either

This isn't the first time either. Riot has had a looooong history of trying to churn out cheap skins and refusing to make proper changes based on feedback. Remember MF's ultimate? The main reason why they never reworked it before release is because the splash art, live 2D animations (login screen), animated trailer, and everything else was already finished before they even put it up on PBE. They had decided the skin was finished before ever letting the community judge it, so we just had to accept it. Then there's the Mordekaiser rework, where they outright refused to put budget into his skins getting proper VFX, even those within the tier that REQUIRED it having that. Imagine the community telling a game company that they can't just rework skins they purchased to have less than what they originally did, and still refuse to fix them. It took one Riot employee to create the effects on his own time for them to just say "okay, sure. Add them into the game". There's a laundry list of them just being lazy, scummy, or out of touch and refusing to go back on mistakes. Like Necrit said, the only Infernal skins that were ever liked were Infernal Nasus, Zyra, and Diana's. The last two only being praised due to them being better than those around them at the time.

Either they redo the whole base concept of infernal, or they'll just put it to rest

It's hated because everything comes in a soulless industrial cash-grab packs just for the sake of a schedule. In the legacy days, skins were unique and tied to champions identity... Now they release it in generic packs (because of money), instead of taking a careful look at individual champions and releasing it dynamically. To paint a picture of the problem: For example, you know the skin Sultan Tryndamere? Imagine now 100+ champions having the same skin line/theme, *regardless of champion identity, uniqueness or if it even looks good.* The reason the skin Draven Draven is good, is not because of the quality but because it's unique and it fits perfectly, many such cases.

nah. it's not the problem about the creatives or the artists, they do their best according to what's they're directed to do and what they're given. creating skins goes through a lot of steps and goes through a lot of people before it's gets approved and the problem in my opinion falls on those people that make those decisions, it's the corporate dogs who thinks passion and having a strict high standard costs time and a lot of money and the management that wants to make profit by just doing the bare minimum amount of work that's why you get skins that just looks like "products" and not cool looking pieces of art.

I think the last time Riot released an awesome skin was Diana's winterblessed where it turns the whole rift into winter wonderland once she get a penta. Only downside is... it has to be a penta which is pretty difficult for her since shes basically a initiator unless shes gigafed

I mean, the idea of Infernal is that it's the champions on fire. The whole premise is limiting, so of course the skins will be just the characters on fire. What did people expect exactly? Outside of blue fire and some magma there's more or less nothing they can do to be creative with how bare-bones the skinline is thematically.

I mean if they're gonna make an Inferno skinline for the champions, they could've tried getting some inspiration from freakin Dante's Inferno. There are 9 different rings with different punishments for different kinds of sins. They could easily pick a champion, place in a ring or match them with a sin and their punishment, they suddenly you have a prompt to make very cool designs. And if they knew Dante's Inferno, they would know that sections of hell are not always fire, there's some elements of it that involve trees (for the suicides) and there is an icy lake in the very center of hell for the people that did the worst of the worst.

The first couple of infernal skins were very hellish, but then they moved to just being fire which I feel makes some of the original out of place how I would try to fix the infernal skin line: -make infernal Nasus and Alistar part of the demonic AU -make infernal velkoz part of high noon -make all infernals have a consistent set design theme. Personally I'd play up the ashen lord aspect and have them switch to crumbling ash and soot bodies as their cores with fire coming off of them

imagine if they tried a bit more with the concept. like mayble blue fire aesthetics for Ashe and olaf ( Freliord), and maybe Karma can have greenish spirit fire. That would be a way more interesting twist on the inferno skinline

Not Everyone hates the skins. I loved every skin and sometimes that love isn't enough for another to understand how its still love. Art tho is boundless and perfectly able to represent what is tried to be told.

I actually HATE single-colored chromas. Blue chroma has blue armor, green chroma has green armor... WHY? It just looks like they put a filter on top of the skin and that's it. No color mixing, no interesting combinations... just... a color.

Ashe could've been a cool design idea. Instead of ashe but red, they could lean more into a frost fire aesthetic which is more in line with her freljord origins. I know her whole design revolves around ice but they could redesign the vfx to look more fiery like they did originally (but blue)
