i actually always thought of ena as having a severe case of bipolar disorder -- as she seems more like they're two extreme moods rather than two entire personalities altogether. She displays quite a few characteristics: in the depressive phase, she displays feelings of shame, self-loathing, etc. and in the manic phase, she's more energetic, always happy, i little overconfident, and once, she seems "drunk," as moony accuses (in bipolar manic phases, friends and family tend to say the person seems drunk or high). It's also common for people around those who suffer bipolar to describe them as "very different" with the episodes.

In case you’re still looking at your comments and no one has mentioned this to you yet, if you actually translate what the mime and the puppet are saying the subtitles are actually lying to you and in reality they are desperately warning Ena and telling her to turn around. That’s why Merci looks so aggressive. The actual translation involves her loudly calling Ena an “idiotic fuck.”

@@lazyspacepirate If you're using an English phonetics to Japanese characters keyboard that could help for the Japanese, but it isn't accurate. I honestly just read some native speakers translations of what they heard and I believe there might also be some subtitles on the original video that may help? (I may be misremembering) ENA always hires mostly native speakers of a variety of different languages for side characters so the majority of them speak different languages. Translations are also provided by people who analyze this episode because the existence of the actual lines has sparked a lot of fan theories. You can also find accurate translations under the Wiki for each individual character! So far, that I am aware of, those are the only two whose subtitles don't match. It's probably a property of the place where Moonie lives.

I love Ena so much, and when I say she relates too me it’s not just because how chaotic and funny she is but because she seems too have a split personality disorder which is what I have . One second she could be happy, another mad and another completely out of it, which is basically me . With this i also tend to change my tone of voice and maybe accent exactly like her, I tend too usually have a mild and quiet Scandinavian/Russian accent but sometimes I can become loud and have more of an American accent . But in short she’s definitely an outstandingly amazing written character which has definitely been thought out of. When I say this it sounds like I’m lying but it’s true . I’m basically somewhat like a real life Male Ena that’s more . . . Mentally stable .

I don’t think ENA is suppose to have any sort of personality disorder; cluster b, dissociative, or otherwise. Most personality disorders emerge from traumatic experiences and while ENA has themes that overall relate to mental illness ENA herself is simply a fun character Joel came up with to screw around with webcore aesthetics. The ENA from the new season seems to have a bit more going on with her but seeing as this ENA’s story is over, it’s likely that this is all there is to it. Just a funky webcore girl in a funky webcore world. Also I think webcore/glitchcore and other such online aesthetics have been utilized by mentally ill people to express their symptoms visually and that’s something that leaked into ENA through artistic influence but has no hold on the story itself. Season 2 of Ena seems to have a lot of direct Yume Nikki influence on the other hand and I feel like discussion of mental illness is inherent to anything that is Yume Nikki inspired, but that’s just from my experience with that game’s community and the things that have come out of it.

idk, I think since the ENA series has so many themes of mental illness, ENA herself almost certainly has some sort of disorder but I think it's more likely to be something like bipolar disorder. Others have put it better than me in this comment section but her yellow and blue faces seem to reflect the manic and depressive phases experienced by those suffering from bipolar disorder. Additionally, I think her journey to the bedroom of Great Runas in Temptation Stairway reflects the long and difficult road to mental health treatment, a journey which seems to result in what seems to be a positive change in her health, with her whole face turning yellow by the end.
