So I missed my flight on the day this happened and realised how crappy the Delhi airport actually is because I kept trying to get to the taxi counter (Which is on the arrival lounge) to pay for a taxi to a hotel from my credit card and you just can't get to the counter through the departure lounge! How I missed the KLIA! I kept telling the security guards that I need to access the counter since I didn't have cash that I can actually use and that I need to pay by card but they didn't even care. Best part though... most of the taxi drivers I met took pity on me and took my old currency saying "You're a foreigner here. We can at least change it from the bank..." and I love them for their generosity. My friends there were saying how lucky I was since most taxi drivers they got refused to even let them get in unless they had the right cash!

actually people have found a way around it like for instance where i used to live in India you had to pay your electricity bills to a machine which was run by a bunch of people now those people had black money left in 500 and 1000 rs notes. when the cancellation of the notes was announced the machine was not updated so it still took the 500 and 1000 rs notes. so whenever someone came to pay the bills they would obliviously use the 100 rs note or lower or use the new 2000 rs notes. and the notes given by the people were kept by the people working there and the black money the people working their had was put into the machine.
