Friends and families are going to have to live together and spread the rent or mortgages out just to live a halfway decent life. That's what some people did back in the depression. That's why couples started sleeping sharing one bed . They couldn't afford a second bed.they used to sleep in separate beds. True story.

I used to know an older couple that slept in separate rooms. I found it strange as a teenager. As an adult, I got involved with a guy who made so much noise in his sleep that he could have scared away an entire jungle full of creatures. Snoring, snorting, farting, lips snacking in my ear....then all the twitching and leg kicking. I slept on the couch when he was over, suddenly understanding that older couple. Loved him when he was awake. Wanted to smother him while he slept...especially that lip smacking in my ear like he was struggling to chew a peanut butter sandwich.

I do agree but I can guarantee you most if not all of these people are living above their means. And i understand things like rent for example are over priced for everyone and you have to live somewhere, but getting your hair or nails done or going out on the weekend isn't necessary if you don't have the money. If you don't struggle in your early twenties it doesn't build character. I will never complain because I know what it's like to really not have.

Government overspending, borrowing, and money-printing + covid lockdowns (supply-demand imbalances) + inefficient energy and housing policies + mass immigration + supply shocks (e.g. Ukraine war effects) are the main reasons for the inflation. Corporate greed / price gouging is what the polititians want you to believe it is, not their bad policies.

I know it's hard for people to change their way of living but in order to somewhat make it you have to change. Stop shopping at expensive stores like Harris Teeter and Whole Foods. You have to stop getting your nails done and learn how to do them yourself. Stop buying expensive coffee and eating out and make your food and drinks at home. Shopping at Dollar General is expensive for things like cleaning and hair supplies. You have to shop around. I've been living on a tight budget and lived a frugal life style my entire adult life. Sometimes you have to sacrifice things and concentrate on paying your bills and having food in your home. In reality that's all we need. Things will not improve, things will get worse. So practice sacrificing now because soon the things that we love will not be available. Businesses will close down once more people will no longer be able to afford their services.

What if you’re doing all of that and your apartment gets sold and the new owner doubles the rent? Or your partner leaves? Or you have a medical crisis? Or someone uninsured totals your car? I would amend that by saying, instead of having a mindset of sacrificing, have a mindset of seeking out better, more affordable options. You don't have to spend lots of money to have a good time, or to have cool hobbies -- and if your hobbies are things that help you produce your own stuff, then all the better. A gardener can't be scalped by the price of tomatoes and shallots, a seamstress won't be hurt by the price of clothing. Of course it's a bad situation, and self-sufficiency is no substitute for being paid a fair livable wage, but I can't help but think things are only going to get worse, and as much as possible we need to find ways, not only to survive, but to thrive, and to help those around us do the same. Try gardening, or sewing, or baking, or raising backyard chickens, or growing mushrooms. Don't just accept a mindset of sacrifice, of only having a few, cheap things.

Been a broke-ass my whole life, no matter how hard I tried. Worked 3 jobs and all that. Needed an extra job just to afford the monthly bus pass to get to the job that barely covered my share of the rent. Most everything people are saying now is stuff my closest friends and I have been dealing with our whole lives. People are only now making a fuss about it now because the middle-class is feeling it, too. Back in 2018 my mom and I both witnessed the rents for basic 2 bedroom apartments in her area jump from $1200/mth to $14-1600/mth...even for basement apartments with bs rules "No smokers. No smoking on the property." If I'm paying your mortgage, I should be allowed to smoke outside by my door. TL;DR This gouging and greed has been going on a long time. @@mamadoom9724 A couple of tips for you - adding a 1/4 cup of sunflower seeds before blending will improve the creaminess of the oat milk if you've been accustomed to half and half or coffee mate creamer. Cashews also work beautifully for this, but they are expensive. The pulp that is leftover after you squeeze the milk through the nut milk bag lends a lovely flavor to homemade bread, and it reduces the amount of flour you have to add to it as well. I make about a quart worth of oat milk at a time because it doesn't keep long being totally natural (put it into something with a tight lid that you can shake because it separates in the fridge) it won't keep as long as the stuff with all the preservatives in it. I keep the pulp from each time in a lidded container in the fridge until I need to make bread again the following week - it usually adds up to a cup and a half or 2 of flour "substitute". Nothing weird about it - you can find lots of bread with oats and sunflower seeds in the bakery aisle at the store, usually around the $6 per loaf mark.

@@distantraveller9876 It appears that businesses are increasing prices out of greed. It’s being reported that more than half of retail businesses are using inflation to drive up prices higher than what's necessary to offset increased costs, and soaring corporate profits have contributed more to inflation than the Federal Reserve Board's preferred targets, wages and consumer demand. There is reasonable profit and then there is actual greed and we are experiencing greed.

I think that people in those videos don't adjust to the new situation too well. In my country we've had 18% inflation, and rent is as high as median earnings. When your situation change, your habits should change with it. It's four months now since my husband lost his job, and even though he's been on many interviews where he heard that he is the perfect candidate, he still does not have a job. To survive, we've changed our lifestyle. Each week I check what will be discounted and plan meals. I choose cheap brands of essentials like nappies or laundry detergent, and if possible buy them when they are cheaper. I don't buy much premade stuff. Not only that, but I sold some things from the house for extra cash, and end streaming services like Netflix... When I look at some of those videos, it seems that people don't even try to cut on things they used to buy.

Need some opinions I am going to start a you tube channel about showing cooperate's greed , Last Sunday I went to wallmart and the avocados were over ripe ready to be thrown away for $0.60 cents each lower than usual, but this week still a lot of avocados a over ripe just about ready to be thrown out and now the price has been raised to around $0.81. Why doesn't wallmart lower the prices of the items that will be thrown out soon so they can make some money and people get to eat. Blueberries last week the small container $ 2 and change this week $ 3 and change. The 99 cents store just had the entire fridge in my area yellow roped off because everything expired. Please give me your opinion do you think if I made a you tube video about this it can help the situation.

More documentation is good. I suggest doing it, but I dont expect you'll make much money. Documenting is good in general, I think. Creates a static map of a moment in time you, and others, can refer back to. Good luck.
