Magic with spear/horsemen into spear/crossbow. It might sound OK on paper with the spears being even and then the horsemen diving crossbows but in practice I find that the spears just get on top of the horsemen, and then the remaining spears hold the front-line while the crossbows take out the enemy spears. I like to play spear/crossbow and add some MAA to tank a bit more on the frontline and some mangos on the back. Magic also made a huge mistake not getting the cheap level 1 wood and mining eco upgrades.
